I MPOR T ANT S AFETY I NSTRUCTIONS When using your cordless telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following: • Read and understand all instructions.
2 • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not disassemble this product. Send it to Thomson when some service or repair work is required. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembly can cause electrical shock when the phone is subsequently used.

6 H ANDSET S ETUP 1. Insert the battery into the compartment. 2. Install the battery compartment door . 3. Attach the handset antenna by screwing the antenna clockwise into the top of the handset. A UXILIARY P OWER R ESERVE The spare battery also functions as a power back up.
7 1. Plug the telephone line cord into the base and into a modular jack. 2. Plug the power supply cord into the base and into an AC outlet. 3. Set the PULSE/TONE switch to TONE for touch-tone service, or PULSE for rotary service. If you don’t know whic h type of service you have, c hec k with the phone compan y.
8 PAGE/FIND AUXILLIARY CHARGER CHARGE IN USE W ALL M OUNT I NST ALLATION 1. Plug one end of the short telephone line cord into the jack marked PHONE LINE on the back of the unit, and plug the other end into a modular wall jack. 2. Connect the power supply adapter to the POWER 12V DC jack on the back of the unit, and plug it into an AC outlet.
9 C ORDLESS P HONE B ASICS M AKING A C ALL After initial set up, batteries should be charged for at least 8 hours. The only two things you need to know to make a call are: • Press the T ALK but ton before you dial. If you attempt to mak e a call out of operation range, the handset will emit a set of three beeps.

12 A DV ANCED F EA TURES C HANNEL B UTTON (CHAN) If you ever experience an y interference or don’t have clear v oice quality , press the CHAN button on the handset to advance to another channel (you will hear two sets of two beeps).
13 S TORING A REDIAL NUMBER 1. Press MEM. 2. Press REDIAL. 3. Press MEM, and then press the number for that memory location. D IALING A S TORED N UMBER 1. Press the T ALK button to get a dial tone. 2. Press MEM and then press the number for that memory location.
14 C HAIN D IALING FROM M EMOR Y Use this feature to make calls which require a sequence of numbers, for instance if you use a calling card for a frequently called long distance number .
15 Mak e sure phone is OFF before you replace battery . 1. Remove the battery compartment door . 2. Remove the battery pack. 3. Insert the new battery into the com- partment on the back of the handset.

18 G ENERAL P RODUCT C ARE T o keep your telephone working and looking good, follow these guidelines: • Avoid put ting the phone near heating appliances and devices that generate electrical noise (for example, motors or fluorescent lamps). • DO NOT expose to direct sunlight or moisture.
19 C AUSES OF P OOR R ECEPTION • Aluminum siding. • Foil backing on insulation. • Heating ducts and other metal construction can shield radio signals. • Y ou’ re too close to appliances suc h as microwaves, sto ves, computers, etc. • Atmospheric conditions, such as strong storms.
20 T ELEPHONE N ETWORK I NFORMA TION Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone compan y, where practicable, may notify you that temporary discontinuance of service may be required.
