Hardware Installation - 22 - 1-8 Onboard Buttons, Swi tches, and L EDs Overclocking Buttons The overclocking buttons allow users to overclock the CPU in real-time and at anytime (whether in BIOS, DOS or Windows), including CPU Ratio, BCLK and even change BCLK stepping.
- 23 - Hardware Installation Onboard V oltage Measurement Module Users can use a multimeter to measure component voltages, including QPI PLL, IOH core, CPU PLL, DDR, DDR VTT , QPI VTT , and Vcore. Y ou can employ one of the following two ways to measure component volt- ages.
Hardware Installation - 24 - Quick Buttons This motherboard has 3 quick buttons: power button, reset button and clear ing CMOS button. The power button and reset button allow users to quickly turn on/of f or reset the computer in an open-case environment when they want to change hardware components or conduct hardware testing.

- 33 - BIOS Setup BIOS (Basi c I nput and Output Syst em) records hardw are parameters of th e sy stem in the CMOS on the motherboard. Its major functions include conducting the Power-On Self-T est (POST) during system startup, saving syst em p arameters and loading op erating system, etc.
BIOS Setup - 34 - 2-1 Startup Screen The following screens may appear when the computer boots. A. The LOGO Screen (Default) B. The POST Screen Function Keys: <T AB>: POST SCREEN Press the <T ab> key to show the BIOS POST screen.

BIOS Setup - 40 - (Note) This item is present only when you install a memory module that supports this f eature. QPI Clock Ratio Allows you to set the QPI clock ratio. Options are: Auto (default), x36, x44, x48, Slow Mode. The ad- justable range is dependent on the CPU being installed.
- 41 - BIOS Setup >>>>> Advanced Clock Control CPU Clock Drive Allows you to adjust the amplitude of the CPU and Chipset clock. Options are: 700mV , 800mV (default), 900mV , 1000mV . PCI Express Clock Drive Allows you to adjust the amplitude of the PCI Express and Chipset clock.
BIOS Setup - 42 - Prole DDR V oltage When using a non-XMP memory module or Extreme Memory Prole (X.M.P .) is set to Disabled , this item will display as 1.5V . When Extreme Memory Prole (X.M.P .) is set to Prole1 or Prole2 , this item will display the value based on the SPD data on the XMP memory .

BIOS Setup - 50 - HDD S.M.A.R.T . Capability Enables or disables the S.M.A.R.T . (Self Monitoring and Reporting T echnology) capability of your hard drive. This feature allows your system to report read/write errors of the hard drive and to issue warnings when a third party hardware monitor utility is installed.
- 51 - BIOS Setup 2-6 Integrated Peripherals eXtreme Hard Drive (XHD) (Intel ICH10R South Bridge) Enables or disables the X.H.D function for the SA T A controllers integrated in the Intel ICH10R South Bridge. When set to Enabled , the ICH SA T A Control Mode item below will be set to RAID(XHD) au- tomatically .
BIOS Setup - 52 - USB Keyboard Function Allows USB keyboard to be used in MS-DOS. (Default: Enabled) USB Mouse Function Allows USB mouse to be used in MS-DOS.
- 53 - BIOS Setup Link Detected Displays transmission speed. Cable Length Displays the approximate length of the attached LAN cable. Note: The Gigabit hub will only operate at a speed of 10/100 Mbps in MS-DOS mode; it will operate at a normal speed of 10/100/1000 Mbps in Windows mode or when the LAN Boot ROM is activated.
BIOS Setup - 54 - ACPI Suspend T ype SpeciestheACPIsleepstatewhenthesystementerssuspend. S1(POS) Enables the system to enter the ACPI S1 (Power on Suspend) sleep state. In S1 sleep state, the system appears suspended and stays in a low power mode.

BIOS Setup - 58 - Press <Enter> on this item and then press the <Y> key to load the safest BIOS default settings. In case system instability occurs, you may try to load Fail-Safe defaults, which are the safest and most stable BIOS settings for the motherboard.

BIOS Setup - 60 - Press <Enter> on this item and press the <Y> key . This saves the changes to the CMOS and exits the BIOS Setup program. Press <N> or <Esc> to return to the BIOS Setup Main Menu.

- 99 - Appendix C. Rebuilding an Array Rebuilding is the process of restoring data to a hard drive from other drives in the array . Rebuilding applies only to fault-tolerant arrays such as RAID 1, RAID 5 or RAID 10 arrays. The procedures below assume a new drive is added to replace a failed drive to rebuild a RAID 1 array .
Appendix - 100 - • Performing the Rebuild in the Operating System While in the operating system, make sure the Chipset driver has been installed from the motherboard driver disk. Then launch the Intel Rapid Storage T echnology utility from All Programs in the Start menu.
