4 The Anti-Tip Bracket The range will not tip during normal use. However , the range can ti p if you apply too much force or weight to the open door wit hout t he anti-tip bracket f astened down pr operly . Tip Over Hazard A child or adult can tip the range and be killed.
5 BATTERY USE Installing/Replacing the Battery * NOTE: Metal battery top is includ ed in the bag con taining literature. T o install or replace the 9V DC alkaline battery , follow the steps below . 1. Open the br oiler door . 2. Remove broile r pan an d grill from broiler .
6 5. Replace the battery holder i n the plastic battery box with the battery facing the bottom and the blue wires facing up, and close the plastic battery box. 6. Reinstall the metal battery top and secure it with the screw . IMPORT ANT : Do not operate bake bur ner without th e metal battery top installed and secured.
7 COOKTOP USE This manual covers several dif ferent models . The range you have purchased may have so me or all of the items listed. The locatio ns and appearances of the features shown here may not match those of your model.
8 Battery failur e In case of prolonged ba ttery failur e, the surface burners can be l it manually . Hold a lit match near a burner and turn knob counterclockwise to LITE. After burner lights, turn knob to setting. Surface Bur ners IMPORT ANT : Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air ar ound the burner grate edges.
9 Use the following chart as a guide for cookware material characteristics. OVEN USE Odors and smoke ar e normal when the oven is used th e first few times, or when it is heavily soiled. IMPORT ANT : The healt h of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off.
10 Bakeware The bakeware material aff ects cooking r esults. Follow manufactur er’ s r ecommendations a nd use the bakewa re size recommended in the recipe. Use the following chart as a guide. Oven V ent A. Oven vent The oven vent releases hot air and moisture from the oven, and should not be blocked or cover ed.
11 BROILING CHART For best r esults, place food 3" (7.0 cm) or more fr om the br oil element. Times are guidelines only and may need to be adjusted for individual foods and tastes. RANGE CAR E Removing the Oven Bottom The oven bottom can be r emoved for standard cleaning of the oven.
12 CONTROL P ANEL T o avoid damage to the contr o l panel, do not use abrasive cleaners, steel-w ool pa ds, gritty washcloths or abrasive paper towels. Cleaning Method: ■ Glass cleaner and soft cloth or sponge: Apply glass cleaner to soft cloth or sponge, not directly on panel.
13 Oven Door For normal range use, it is not suggested to r emove the oven door . Howe ver , if removal is necessary , make sure the oven is off and cool. Then, follow these instructions. The oven door is heavy . To R e m o v e : 1. Open the oven door .
