7 M ANUAL O PERA TION Manual opera tion can be used temporaril y in case you cannot fi nd the remote control or its ba tteries are exhausted. Open and lift the front panel up until it remains fi xed with a clicking sound.
8 A DJUSTING A IRFL OW D IRECTION Adjust the air fl ow direction prop- erly; otherwise, it might cause discomfort or cause uneven room temperatur es. Adjust the horizontal louver using the remote contr ol.
9 Automatic S wing Air fl ow Direction (up-do wn) Perf orm this function while the air conditioner is in operation. Press the SWING button on the r emote control. T o stop the function, press the SWING button again. Press AIR DIRECTION button to lock louver in desired position.
10 H OW THE A IR C ONDITIONER W ORKS A UTOMA TIC O PERATION When you set the air conditioner in AUT O mode, it will automatically select cooling, heating (cooling/ heating models only), or fan-only operation depending on wha t tem- peratur e you have selected and the room tempera ture.
11 O PTIMAL O PERATION T o achie ve optimal performance, please note the f ollowing: Adjust the air fl ow direction correctly so that it is not dir ected on people. Adjust the temperatur e to achie ve the highest comfort level. Do not adjust the unit to excessive temperature levels.
12 ! W ARNING It is necessar y to stop the air conditioner and disconnect the power supply before cleaning. C LEANING THE I NDOOR U NIT & R EMOTE C ONTROL ! C AUTIONS Use a dr y cloth to wipe the indoor unit and remote contr oller . A cloth dampened with cold water may be used on the indoor unit if it is ver y dirty .
13 M AINTENANCE ( CONT .) Remove the air-freshening filter fr om its support frame (The installation and removal method of the air-freshening fi lter is different depending on the models (see pictures mark ed as 1 and 2 on the left). Clean the air freshening fi lter at least once a month and replace it ever y 4-5 months.
14 O PERA TION T IPS The following events may occur during normal operation. 1. P RO TECTION OF THE A IR C ONDITIONER C OMPRESSOR P RO TECTION The compressor can’t restart for 3 min utes after it stops.
15 4. D UST IS B LOW N O UT FROM THE I NDOOR U NIT This is a normal condition when the air conditioner has not been used for a long time or during fi rst use of the unit. 5. A P ECULIAR S MELL C OMES O UT FROM THE I NDOOR U NIT This is caused by the indoor unit giving off smells permeated fr om building material, furnitur e, or smoke.
16 T ROUBLESHOO TING T IPS M ALFUNCTIONS AND S OLUTIONS Stop the air conditioner immediately if one of the following faults occur . Disconnect the power and contact the nearest customer service center .
