Operation 3A0101B 5 Operation The Gr indLazer is designed to plane fla t, horizontal con- crete or asphalt slabs . GrindLazer 270 (270 cc) and GrindLaz er 390 (390 cc) models are desig ned to be operated b y a single oper a- tor positioned at the back of th e unit, or in conjunction with LineDriver .
Operation 6 3A0101B Drum Installation/Replacement Installation NO TE: Carbide Flail Cutter dr ums do not re quire specific orientation or dire ction. Carbid e Millers and Diamond Blades are direct ional. They should be stack ed so that the arrows on the Millers and Blades f ace the same direction as the ro tation of the drum.
Operation 3A0101B 7 Star ting the Engine 3. Engage Rear Wheel Br ake (G) to pre vent Grind- Lazer from moving. 4. 480 Models Onl y: Attach LineDr iver to GrindLazer . 5. Push down on handle ba rs until drum is locked into UP position. 6. 480 Models Onl y: Make sure Engine Stop Switch (C) is in UP position.
Operation 8 3A0101B Cutting Material 1. Start Engine , see page 7. 2. Connect Emergen cy Shut-Off Cord (C) to opera tor . 3. Disengage Rear Wheel Br ake (G). 4. Slide Engine Throt tle Lev er (A) to desired setting. NO TE: Drum clutch will not engage when engine is running at idle.
Operation 3A0101B 9 Depth Contr ol Wheels Using Depth Contr ol Wheels as a 5 in. or 10 in. Wide Cutting Guide To m a k e a 5 in. cut , install two spacer s (S) on outside of Depth Cont rol Wheels (K). To m a k e a 10 in. cut , install tw o spacers (S) on inside of Depth Cont rol Wheels (K).
Operation 10 3A0101B Stop Cutting Material 1. Push down on handle ba rs until drum is locked into UP position. 2. Slide Engine Thrott le Lev er (A) to low setting. 3. T urn Engine P ower Switch (B) OFF . Clean Up Clean the entire e xter ior of the machin e after it has cooled at the end of each work day .
