22 ENGLISH What is Microban ® ? Microban® is odourless, colourless and tasteless. Microban® inhibits the gro wth of micro-organ- isms by permeating the cell walls and destr oy- ing the micro-organism cells. These cells ar e then no longer able to reproduce and gr owth is prohibited.

24 ENGLISH 24 ENGLISH Fle xible hose The flexible hose is the connection between the appliance and the extendable suction tube. 1 Inser t the flexible hose with the flexible con- tact into the suction intake on the appliance until it latches in. 2 Inser t the other end (handle) of the f lexible hose into the extendable suction tube .

R 2 Suction brush attac hment Use the suction brush attachment for clean- ing furniture, picture fr ames, books, etc.
26 ENGLISH 26 ENGLISH Check if the mains voltage on the t ype plate (on the bottom of the appliance) corresponds to your local mains supply . Assembly Y our appliance is supplied with a f itted dust bag. Once you hav e assembled the individual par ts, the appliance is ready to operate.
ENGLISH 27 ENGLISH 27 Switc hing on and of f 1 Pull out the power cor d to the lengt h you require. Caution 7 A yello w mark appears at t he end of the cord. The maximum cable length is shown b y a red mark. Never attempt to pull out the cord be yond the red mark.
28 ENGLISH 28 ENGLISH If the display is completely red, the dust bag must be changed immediately , other wise the thermal protection circuitry will be activated. If this happens, the motor stops and cannot be star ted again for appro x. 30 minutes. Change the dust bag and wait until the appliance has completely cooled down.
ENGLISH 29 ENGLISH 29 Changing the dus t bag 1 Disconnect the power cor d from the wall socket. 2 Open the dust housing by pressing do wn on the catch of the dus t housing and then lif t up the cover . 3 Remo ve the dust bag from its holder . 4 Seal the dust bag by inserting t he catch of the cardboard r einforcement into the open- ing.
30 ENGLISH 30 ENGLISH Cleaning or replacing the f ilter Caution 7 The dust bag and filter must be f itted before use, other wise the motor could be damaged. In the dus t housing (motor protective filter) 1 Open the dust housing by pressing do wn on the catch of the dus t housing and then lif t up the cover .
ENGLISH 31 ENGLISH 31 2 Firstly , remove the grille of the HEP A filter. 3 Then remo ve the sponge filter from the inner area of the air outlet. 4 Shake both filters vigorously , then clean in warm soap y water , rinse thoroughly and leave it to dry. Caution 7 Never put the filters in the washing machine or dr y with a hair dr yer .
32 ENGLISH 32 ENGLISH Stor age Y ou can store the appliance ver tically or horizontally . In the vertical position, store the br ushes under- neath. In the horizontal position, store the brushes in the holder on the back of t he appliance.
