2 IMPOR T ANT SAFEGUARDS When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: ■ Read all instructions. ■ Do not operate the toaster while unattended. ■ Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
3 ■ Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock. ■ Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off pad and touch electrical parts resulting in risk of electrical shock.
P ARTS AND FEA TURES Food Slots with Guides Slide-Out Crumb T ray Bread Lifter Programming Buttons Shade Selector Bread Lifter – Push down the Bread Lifter to start the toaster . The Bread Lifter may be lifte d up to stop to a sting during a cycle. Shade Selector – The Shade Selector ranges from light toast (1) to dark toast (5).
5 Programming Buttons Cancel – This button will illuminate when the toaster is on. T o cancel or end a cycle, press the Cancel button. The cycle will stop and the light will go out. Bagel – Use to toast only the cut side of a bagel, English muffin, or bun.
HOW TO TOAST 6 ■ Plug the toaster into an electrical outlet. ■ Place the bread or bagel in slots, select the toast shade and press down the Bread Lifter .
CLEANING NOTE: If the toaster is used daily, the Crumb T ray should be cleaned weekly. 1. Unplug the toaster and let cool. 2. Slide out the Crumb T ray, discard crumbs and wipe the tray with clean cloth. Replace the Crumb T ray. 3. Wipe outside of the toaster with a damp cloth.
