INTRODUCTION Thank Y ou for Choosing Harman Kardon ® With the purchase of a Harman Kardon A VR 430, you are about to begin many years of listening enjoyment. The A VR 430 has a wide range of features and options that accommodate virtually any combination of speakers , room size and program sources .

When the tuner is in the MANUAL/MONO mode , each tap of the Selector will increase or decrease the frequency by one increment.

MA IN REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS Memory Button: Press this button to enter a radio station to the A VR 430’s preset memory . First, tune the desired station, and then press this button.
ZONE II REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS å Po wer Off Button: When used in the room where the A VR 430 is located, press this button to place the unit in Standby . When it is used in a remote room with a sensor that is connected to the Multiroom IR Input f jack, this button turns the Multiroom system on and off .
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS System Installation After unpacking the unit, locating it in a place with ade- quate ventilation and placing it on a solid surface capable of supporting its weight, you will need to make the con- nections to your audio and video equipment.

Connect the Video Monitor Output › jacks on the receiver to the composite or S-Video input of your television monitor or video projector . 6. If your DVD Player has Y/Pr/Pb analog component video outputs , connect them to the Component Video 1 Inputs c .

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION 19 SYSTEM CONFIGURATION When all audio , video and system connections have been made , there are a few configuration adjustments that must be made . A few minutes spent to correctly configure and calibrate the unit will greatly add to your listening experience .

OPERATION Basic Operation Once you have completed the initial setup and configu- ration of the A VR 430, it is simple to operate and enjoy . The following instructions will help you maximize the enjoy.

38 MULTIROOM OPERATION MULTIROOM OPERATION The A VR 430 is fully equipped to operate as the con- trol center for a complete multiroom system that is capable of sending one source to a second zone in the house while a separate source is listened to in the main room.

Renaming Individual Keys Thanks to the programming flexibility of the A VR remote , an individual button on the remote may be assigned a feature or function that is different from the name that appears as the factory default when the button is pressed.
