Do not apply excessive pull ing forc e to the front, or top, of the cabinet which could caus e the prod uct to overturn resulting in product damage and/or personal injur y.

8 HOW TO SETUP YOUR NEW HITACHI LCD TELEVISION To take measures to prevent the L CD Television from tipping over and prevent possibl e injury it is important to mount the unit in a stable place. *Keep the LCD Television four inches away from the wall except those hung to the wall mount bracket.
9 HOW TO SETUP YOUR NEW HITACHI LCD TELEVISION VIEWING The major benefit of the HITACHI LCD Television is its large vi ewing screen. To see this large scr een at its best, test various locations in the room to find the optimum spot for vie wing.
10 HOOKUP CABLES Most video/audio connections bet ween components can be made with shielded video and audio ca bles that have phono connectors. For best performance, video cabl es should use 75-Ohm coaxial shield ed wire. Cables c an be purchased from most stores that sell audio/video products.
11 ANTENNA CONNECTIONS TO REAR PANEL JACKS VHF (75-Ohm) antenna/CATV (Cable TV) When using a 75-Ohm coaxia l c able system, connect the outdoor antenna or CATV coaxial cab le to the NTSC TUNER terminal (75-Ohm)and/or DTV TUNER terminal ( 75-Ohm).
12 FRONT PANEL CONTROLS FRONT VIEW 26” LCD TV ① POWER light indicator T o turn the LCD TV ON, press the main power button loca ted on the BACK left side of the TV. A red stand-by indicator lamp located on the lower right corner of the front bezel will illuminate.
13 TOP PANEL CONTROLS TOP VIEW 26” LCD TV ③ POWER button T his power button is for power on the LCD television or chan ge to standby mode. ④ CHANNEL selector Press thes e buttons until the desired channe l appears in the top right corner of the TV screen.
14 REAR PANEL MAIN POWER SWITCH & AC INPUT 26” LCD TV ① AC IN input T his TV is designed to operate on 120VOLT S 60Hz AC current. Insert the TV power cord into a 120VOLTS 60Hz outlet. ①-1 Main power button: This power button is for the complete system, and must be turned ON/OFF manually.
15 SIDE PANEL JACKS 26” LCD TV ② S-VIDEO ( VIDEO 4) Provide S-VIDEO (Super Video) jacks for connecti ng equipment with S-VIDEO output capability. ③ VIDEO (VIDEO 4) B y using the VIDEO button of the remote contro l, you can select VIDEO 4.Use the video inputs to connect extern al devices, such as camcorders.

18 CONNECTING EXTERNAL SOURCES The exact arrangement you use to connect the PC, VCR, camcorder, laserdisc player, DVD player , or HDTV Set Top Box to your LCD TV is dependent on the model and feat ures of each component. Check the o wner’s manual of each component for the location of vid eo and audio inputs and outputs.
19 CONNECTING EXTERNAL SOURCES CONNECTING HDTV SOURCES HDTV input sources, such as a digital cab le box, digital sat ellite receiver, or dig ital terrestrial receiver box, can b e connec ted as desired, using the appropriate cabl e system.
20 CONNECTING EXTERNAL SOURCES CONNECTING A TV CABLE BOX OR SA TELLITE RECEIVER 1. Connect the TV Cable Box or Satellite Rec eiver device using: Component cable and Audi o cable (Video 1 or Video 2) OR S-Video cable and Audio cable (Video 3 or Video 4) OR Composite Video cable and Audio ca ble (Video 3 or Video 4) .

23 CONNECTING EXTERNAL SOURCES CONNECTING A A UDIO RECEIVER For improved sound quality, you may want to play the audio of the LCD th rough your stereo system. 1. Use an audio cable to connect the LCD’s audio out put jacks to the line input jacks on the A/V receiver.

31 OSD (On-Screen Display) USING THE ON-SCREEN DISPLAY (OSD) CONTROLS 1. Press MENU on the remote control to display the different features on your HITACHI LCD TV. 2. Use the ▲▼ W X to navigate to different menu item. 3. Use the W X to adjust functions.
32 NTSC TV/ VIDEO Mode OSD (On-Screen Display) Adjust the picture mode, tint, color, contrast, bright ness, sharpness , backlight, color temperature and reset of your display. Video Function Options Picture Mode Select a preset customized pi cture setting.

39 SETTING UP YOUR DTV 1. Make sure the physical connection is pr operly connected. 2. Switch on the TV. 3. Select the appropriate external video i nput on your TV by using the TV remote control. 4. If the LCD is moved to a different location. You should reset the receiver and do the channel scanning all over again.
40 SETTING UP YOUR DTV 1. On the Channel menu page, select the third item MANUAL SCAN. 2. Press W or X to highlight the input column, then press numeric buttons to input the channel number. The channe l frequency will be automaticall y showing on right side of the input column.
41 SETTING UP YOUR DTV Adjust the f ont size, style, color and opacit y of Closed Caption. Select the sound, opacity, I-Plate, time zone mode and check the hard ware and software version.
42 SETTING UP YOUR DTV T o change p assword, enter the Change Pass word Number option in P ASSWO RD function, press SEL button to change password. Enter four digital password in enter ne w password number. And t hen confirm the password by enter ing the sa me password again.
