OM-477 Page 2 W elding on closed containers, such as tanks, drums, or pipes, can cause them to blow up. Sparks c a n fly off from the welding arc. The flying sparks, hot workpiece, and hot equipment can cause fires and burns. Accidental contact of electrode to metal objects can cause sparks, explosion, overheating, or fire.

Stop engine before installing or connecting unit. Have only qualified people remove guards or covers for maint- enance and troubleshooting as necessary .

When an arc is struck, weld out- pu t control returns to the R1 front panel o r combination front panel/remote control setting.

Do not adjust main adjustment screw so air-fuel mixture is too lean. Carburetor can be equipped with an adjustable main jet for operation above 4000 ft (1219 m).

Check engine weld/power speed, and adjust if necessary (see Section 7-8). Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check field current regulator board PC1.
