12 Chapter 3 OPERA TING DET AILS The Explorer Handheld GPS is a miniature comput er , composed of a CPU, memory IC and operation system (OS), called HOLUX OS. It is designed to receive the satellite signals once every 100 milli-second, i.e. 10 ti mes per second, and to calculate all the retrieved dat a in the CPU.

SIMULA TION This function is for looking up a map or setti ng up waypoints and routes regardless of acquiring satellite signals.
