6 7 UNP ACKING This product r equir es assembly . n Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. n Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
8 9 NOZZLE UPPER BLOWER TUBE KNOB ASSEMBL Y WARNING: Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before installing parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Failure to do so could r esult in possible serious personal injury . ASSEMBLING THE BLOWER TUBES See Figure 2.

10 11 Fig. 4 ST ARTING AND STOPPING See Figure 3. Starting the product differs depending on whether the engine is cold or warm. TO START A COLD ENGINE: n Place the blower on a flat, bare surface. n Make sure cruise control is locked in the IDLE position.
10 11 WIDE SWEEPER NOZZLE CRUISE CONTROL SELECTOR (THROTTLE LOCK) THROTTLE TRIGGER �� n Operate blower at the lowest possible throttle speed to do the job. �� n Check your equipment before operation, especially the muffler, air intakes and air filters.
12 13 MAINTENANCE WARNING: When servicing, use only identical Homelite replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust.
12 13 MAINTENANCE SP ARK ARRESTOR The muffler is equipped with a spark arrestor scr een inside muf fler body . After extended use the scree n can become dirty and may need to have the muffler replaced by an authorized servicing dealer . WARNING: Never run the blower without the spark arrestor in place.
14 15 TROUBLESHOOTING IF THESE SOLUTIONS DO NOT SOL VE THE PROBLEM CONT ACT YOUR AUTHORIZED SERVICING DEALER. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION Engine will not start. 1. No spark. 2. No fuel. 3. Starter rope pulls harder now than when new. 1. Check spark.
