Once your seat is a dju st ed correctly, rock it back and f ort h to make sure t he sea t is loc ked in posit ion.

Y our seat belt syst em includes lap/ shoulder belts in a ll sea ting pos itions. T he f ront seat belts a re also equipped w ith a ut omat ic seat belt t ensioners. If either the driver or a f ront passenger do es not f a sten their seat belt while driv ing, th e beeper w ill sound and t he indica tor will f lash agai n at regu l ar interval s.
T he l ap and sh ou l der be lt goe s over your shoulder , acros s your chest , and a cross y our hips. To f aste n th e b e lt, in ser t the l atc h plat e int o t he buckle, t hen t ug on t he belt to mak e sure t he buckle is lat ched ( see pa ge f or how t o proper ly posit ion the belt ).

T he dri ver’s ad vance d f ront airbag system includes a sea t position sensor under t he sea t. If t he seat is t oo f a r f orw ard, t he a irba g will inf lat e with less f orce, regar dl ess of the severit y of the impact.
Moving the f r ont seat f orcibly bac k ag ain st carg o on the se at or f loor behind it . A rea r passenger pushing or pulling on t he back of t he f ront passenger’s seat .
Only one a irbag w ill deploy during a side impac t. If t he impac t is on t he passenger’s side, t he passenger’s side airb ag will depl oy even if there is no passe nger. T o get the best pr ote ction f r om th e si de airbag s, f ro nt s eat oc cup ants shoul d wear t heir seat belts a nd si t upright and w ell back in their seat s.
If t he impact is on t he passenger’s side, t he passenger ’s side curt ain airb ag wil l i nf late even if there are no occupant s on tha t side of t he vehicle. T he SR S indicat or a lert s you t o a pot ent ial pr oblem with your airb ags or s eat belt t ensioners.
