4 Although this accessor y was designed and man uf actured with vibr ation-proof perf or mance in mind, alwa ys remember to r ide y our motorcycle saf ely on pa v ed roads. The temperature of the amplifier unit rises when it is used f or a prolonged time .
5 Storage of por table audio unit connected to this accessory After connecting the digital audio system, put the por table audio unit in a stab le place where it does not interf ere with riding the motorcycle (e.g. in the sold separately front pouch, tank belt poc ket, etc.
6 F or y our saf e use of the product, read this carefully before use . After reading, keep the inf or mation handy so that y ou can read it again if necessar y .
7 • Use this accessory only f or the specified model. Use of the accessor y on a model other than the specified model can cause an error in wiring, which possibly leads to fire, machine f ailure or other accident. • Use all the par ts inc luded in the accessory kit and the attachment kit designed f or the model.
8 • If y ou notice an y mac hine failure (i.e . the digital audio system does not sound, faulty amplifier unit, etc.) or any abnormal symptom such as smoke or abnormal smell fr om the accessory , stop using the accessory immediately and consult with y our authorized Honda motorc yc le dealer .
9 FEA TURES This accessor y is a digital audio system specially designed f or Honda motorcycles. It allows y ou to listen to music while riding by connecting a commercially a vailab le por table audio pla y er to this accessor y . The speaker is waterproof and specially designed f or motorcycles that are subject to v arious weather conditions.

11 EXPLANA TIONS OF P AR TS Y ou can tur n the power ON and OFF and adjust the sound le vel with the amplifier unit. It is not designed to operate the por table audio unit connected to this accessory . • Note that the volume should be set at an adequate le vel so y ou can still hear traffic sounds.
12 T urning power ON to listen to m usic. OPERA TION PROCEDURE Connect the digital audio system to the por table audio unit with the sub cord. SUB CORD STEREO MINI JA CK TERMINAL OF POR T ABLE A UDIO UNIT . etc. (ø3.5 mm 3-pin terminal, e.g. headphone ter minal, etc.
13 MUTE function Push the MUTE button to tempor arily tur n down the sound le v el to the minimum. Use this function when an emergency vehicle (e .g. ambulance , fire truck, etc.) is approaching or bef ore crossing a railroad. Push the MUTE button again to cancel the MUTE function.
14 TR OUBLESHOO TING MEASURES Push the PO WER b utton to tur n the pow er ON. Raise the v olume either on the amplifier unit or on the por table audio unit connected to the digital audio system. Connect the sub cord securely . Cancel the MUTE function.
