4 69-1635-2 Programming Thermostat When you progr am the thermostat, set one schedule for weekdays and another for weekends, because your temperature require- ments probably v ary . (During weekends, only the W AKE and SLEEP time per iods are available.
5 69-1635-2 Select RETURN if you w ant the house at a comfortable temperature for activities before bedtime. When deciding what time to set for your RETURN period, include extra lead time, depending on the outside temperature and your furnace response time, to give the furnace a head start to heat the house before you arrive home.

8 69-1635-2 Programming Guide NO TE: Batteries are required for operation and prog ramming. When replacing the batteries, set the system s witch to OFF . Remov e the batter y door (on the thermostat left side) using a coin at the bottom. Follow the instructions in Changing Batteries section.
9 69-1635-2 Heating Program With the system switch at HEA T , press and release once. W AKE, MON-FRI and SET appear on display . Press to program the W AKE time and press to program the WAKE temperature f or MON-FRI. Repeat the sequence for LEA VE, RETURN, and SLEEP .
10 69-1635-2 Cooling Program With the system switch at COOL, follow the same instructions as for Heating Program. After programming, adjust fan and system switches, as desired. Press and release to start the program. A quick guide for operating or making changes follows.
11 69-1635-2 Check Current T emperature Setting —press . Check Pr ograms— press , repeatedly to see each time and temperature; then press . Cancel a program—press , until program to cancel sho ws; then press .
12 69-1635-2 Setting Fan and System Switches First set the fan switch. AU TO : Normal setting for most homes. A single-speed fan turns on automatically with the air conditioner or fur nace. A two-speed f an usually runs on high with the air conditioner and runs on low with the furnace.
13 69-1635-2 Changing Batteries IMPORT ANT Batteries are required for progr am- ming and operation of the thermostat and heating/cooling system. As the batteries r un low , bAt Lo indicator flashes f or one to two months bef ore the batteries r un out completely .
14 69-1635-2 To remov e batteries, press down on the left ends of the batteries. If you inser t new batteries within 20 to 30 seconds of removing the old ones, the thermostat does not require repro- gr amming. Howe v er , if the display is blank, the batteries are dead or incorrectly installed and the thermostat requires reprogramming.
15 69-1635-2 T roubleshooting Guide IF… THEN… Display will not come on. ■ Set the system switch to OFF; remove batteries and insert them backward for at least five seconds to reset the thermostat; replace the batteries correctly . The display should come on.
16 69-1635-2 Heating will not come on (Cont). ■ If display is blank or displays bAt Lo, install fresh batteries. ■ If temperature setting is higher than current temperature, and ther mostat displa ys HEA T , contact Honeywell Customer Assistance at 1-800-468-1502.
17 69-1635-2 Cooling will not come on (Cont). position. If the air conditioner comes on, the compressor could have reached its high limit temperature protection and shut down. If the air conditioner does not come on after ten minutes and displays COOL, contact Honeywell Customer Assistance at 1-800-468-1502.
