T o help you make the best use of your cooker , PLEASE READ THIS BOOKLET CAREFULL Y . Y our new cooker is guaranteed and will give lasting service. The guarantee is only applicable if the cooker has been installed in accordance with the Installation Instructions.
Please read the precautions below bef ore using your cook er . A L W A Y S . . . AL WA YS make sure you understand the controls bef ore using the co oker . AL WA YS check that all controls on the cooker are turned off afte r use. AL WA YS stand back when opening an oven door to allow heat to dis perse.
NEVER . . . NEVER leave children unsuper vised where the cooker is installed as all surf aces will get hot during and after use. NEVER allow anyone to sit or stand on any part of the cooker . NEVER store items that children may attempt to reach above the cooker .
The ov en timer offers you the f ollowing featur es: 1. Time of Day 2. Automatic C ooking 3. Minute Minder A UT OMA TIC COOKING The main ov en can be controlled automatically . GUIDANCE ON A UT OMA TIC COOKING 1. Select foods which will take the same time to cook.
CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ays set , before using your cooker . SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.
SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven controls ar e turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will show 0.00 and the A uto symbol , flashing intermittently . Step 4 Press & hold in both the C ook Period & End Time buttons togethe r.
Step 3 Press and hold in the C ook Period button. The display will read 0.00 with the ‘ cookpot’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the Cook P eriod button still held in, set the required Coo k P er iod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
Step 4 Press & hold in the C ook Period button, the displa y will read 0.00 and the ‘ cookpot ’ symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held in set the required Cook P er iod using the “+” and “–” buttons. Example: 1hr 30 minutes (as shown).
O THER NOTES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. When cooking Automatically the Cook P eriod can be check ed at an y time simply by pressing the C ook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime by simply pr essing the End Time button.
The hotplate lid is fitted with a saf ety device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is f ully open. Do not use the saf ety device as a means of controlling the hotplate burners.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third f ull with oil or f at . 2. Never leave oil or f at unattended during the heating or cooling period. 3. Never heat f at or fry with a lid on the pan. 4 . Alw ays dr y f ood thoroughly bef ore f r ying, and lower it slowly into the hot oil or f at.
AB C CA UTION – ACCESSIBLE P ART S MA Y BECOME HOT WHEN THE GRILL IS USED. YOUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT AW A Y . The grill is fitted with a saf ety device that will cut off the gas supply to the burner if the flame is extinguished f or any reason.
Grilling can be started from cold but f or best results preheat f or approximately two minutes. Most cooking is done with the heat on f ull, but it may be desirable to reduce it f or thicker pieces of meat or f or keeping f ood warm. For au gratin dishes eg.
The main oven is fitted with a saf ety device that re-lights the burner if the flame has been extinguished f or any reason and another saf ety device that reduces the gas flow to a saf e level if , f or any reason, the bu rner f ails to light.
COLD ST ART COOKING Anything requiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and rich f ruit cakes can be put into a cold oven. Satisf actory results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but f or per f ection we recommend pre- heating the oven f or about 15 minutes at the gas mark you requi re f or cooking.
The f ollowing times and setting are f or guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to give a result more to your satisf action. When a diff erent setting to that shown below is given in a recipe, the recipe instructions should be f ollowed. Allow 15 minutes preheat f or best results.

The ‘Slow Cook ’ setting on the main oven thermostat is used f or slow cooking, keeping f ood warm and warming plates f or short periods. USING THE ‘SLOW COOK’ SETTING FOR SLO W COOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow Cook ’ setting should be cooked f or a minimum 6 hours.
The top oven can be used to cook small quantities of f ood or used in conjunction with the main oven to provide additional cooking space. The top oven is fitted with a saf ety device that will cut off the gas supply to the burner if the flame is extinguished f or any reason.

Switch off the electricity supply and allow to cool bef ore cleaning the cooker . Clean the cooker regularly and wipe up spills soon after they occur to prevent them from becoming burnt on. Never use biological washing powd er , caustic cleaners, harsh abrasives, scouring pads, steam cleaners, aerosol cleaners or oven chemical cleaners of any kind.
COOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Control panel (C367), door inner panels (C367), hotplate, pan supports, burner caps, roasting dish, grill pan, main oven base, inside of grill compartment Cloth wrung out in warm soapy water . Stubborn stains can be removed with a cream paste, liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel wool soap pads.
PROBLEM Bef ore contacting your Service Centre or Installer , check the p roblem guide below , there may be nothing wrong with your cook er . CHECK Burner will not light: Burner ports Ignitor Burner ports Ignitor Grill burner Hotplate burner If all burners f ail to ignite: Check that sparks appear at the burners; a clicking noise should be heard.
Cannot set an “ Auto Cook” programme or cannot get the timer to turn the oven on or off at the required times. Read the Timer instructions in this book carefully remembering that the Cook period is the length of time that the timer will switch the oven(s) on as part of an Auto Cooking Programme.
Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions are compatible. The adjustment conditions f or this appliance are stated on the data badge which is fitted on the back panel.

CONNEC TING TO GAS SUPPL Y Connection to the cooker should be made with an approved appliance flexible connection to BS 669. A length of 0.9 to 1.25m is recommended. The length of hose chosen should be such that when the cooker is in situ, the hose does not touch the floor .
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a properly earthed, readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly above, and not more than 1.25m away from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot touch hot p arts of the cooker i.
INST ALL A TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS Aft er installation, check f or gas soundness. The supply pressure can be checked at the f ront left hotplate burner injector . Fit the hotplate burner bodies and caps, pan supports and shelf shield(s). Ref erring to the instructions f or use where necessar y , 1.
