Oven T imer Operation 7 The oven timer off ers you the follo wing features: 1. Time of Day 2. Aut omatic Cooking 3. Minute Minder The Main Oven (only) can be controlled by the automa tic timer .
8 Know Y our Timer CL OCKF A CE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ays set , before using your cooker . SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute Minder Period and will remain lit for the period set.
Elec tronic Clock and A utomatic Ov en Timer Opera tion 9 SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all ov en controls are turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When swit ched on the display will show 0.00 and the Auto symbol , flashing intermittently .
Elec tronic Clock and A utomatic Ov en Timer Opera tion 10 Step 3 P ress and hold in the Cook P eriod button. The display will read 0.00 with the ‘ cook pot’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the C ook Period button still held in, set the requir ed Coo k Period using the “+” and “–” buttons.
Elec tronic Clock and A utomatic Ov en Timer Opera tion 11 Step 4 P ress & hold in the Cook P eriod button, the display will read 0.00 and the ‘ cookpot’ symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held in set the required Cook P eriod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
Elec tronic Clock and A utomatic Ov en Timer Opera tion 12 O THER NOTES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. When cooking Automatically the Cook P eriod can be checked at an y time simply by pressing the C ook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime by simply pr essing the End Time button.
The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan, to facilitate cleaning and st orage. The grill pan handle can be fixed as f ollows: Step 1 Remove the screw and washers from the grill pan bracket (a). Step 2 T ilt the handle over the rec ess (b). Step 3 Slide it towards the centre of the pan (c).

Step 1 Ensure that the timer is set to manual. Step 2 Place the rod shelf in the correct position (see Grilling Guid e). Position the grill pan on the rod shelf , centrally under the gr ill element. Lea ve the door fully open. Step 3 T urn k nob (B) clock wise to select grill function setting: Set to: F or Half Grill (Left hand side only).

The top ov en should be used to cook small quantities of food . T he oven is designed so that the grill element operates at a r educed heat output, this is combined with a heating element situated underneath the floor of the ov en.
Step 1 Ensure that the timer is set t o manual. Step 2 Plac e the shelf in the correct position (see O ven T emperature C har ts). Step 3 Select the required cooking temperature (100–220˚C) using con trol (B) (see T op Oven T emperature Charts).

Step 3 Place the food cen trally on the shelf ensuring the oven door is fully closed . Step 4 Select the required cooking temperature (80 to 230˚C) by turning control (C) clockwise.
F an Only Setting Defrosting frozen mea t and poultry Joints of meat and whole birds should be defrosted slo wly , preferably in a refrigerator (allowing 5-6 hours per lb .) or at room temperatur e (allowing 2-3 hours per lb.). Fr ozen meat or poultry must be completely defrosted bef ore cooking in the oven.
‘S’ “ SL OW ” Setting This is used for slow c ooking, keeping food warm and warming plates for short periods. Extra care should be taken when warming bone china, as it may be damaged in a hot oven. Adv antages of “SL OW” cooking are: The oven sta ys cleaner because there is less splashing .

1. “ST A Y CLEAN” OVEN LINERS ( a) How "Stay C lean" works. The surfaces of the "Stay Clean" oven liners are tr eated with a special vitreous enamel which absorbs cooking soils. At temperatur es of 220˚C (425˚F) or above , the special sur face enables these soils to be slowly destroy ed.
Car e and Cleaning 27 3. OVEN DOORS ( a) Contr ol Panel Regularly wipe with a clean, damp cloth and polish with a clean, dry cloth. (b) T rims It is advisable to clean the trims regularly to prevent any build up of soiling which may detract from the appearance of the cooker .
Car e and Cleaning 28 T ake particular care not to damage the inner sur face of the door inner glass that is coa ted with a heat reflective la yer . Do not use scouring pads, or abra siv e powder , which will scratch the glass . Ensure that the glass panel is not subjected to any sharp mechanical blows.
Electric al Requirements F or your own safety , we recommend that your cooker is installed by a competen t person such as one who is registered with NICEIC (National Inspection Council f or Electrical Installation Contracting). The cooker should be inst alled in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE Regulations.
Impor tant It is essential that the lower cupboard is constructed in the manner illustrat ed i.e. having side , back, and roof panels so joined as to provide no apertures which could permit access to the oven unit when installed .

Problem Check Grilling is uneven Ensure that Grill pan has been positioned as stated in the Grilling section of this book. Oven does not cook ev enly Check: (a) T emperature and shelf positions are as recommended in the O ven T emperature Charts. (b) Oven utensils being used allow sufficient air flow around them.
