3 Set tin g Up t he Monitor T o set up the monitor , ensure that the power is turned of f to the monitor , computer system, and other attached devices, then follo w the steps below . Installin g the Monitor P e destal T o install the monitor pedestal: 1.
Setting Up the Monitor 2. Using both hands, position the monitor ov er the pedestal base and press do wn firmly to lock the pedestal base in place. When the base locks, it will make a clicking sound. Make sure the pedestal base is securely locked before continuing with the setup.
Setting Up the Monitor Connec ting t he Monitor 1. Place the monitor in a con venient, well-ventilated location near your computer . 2. Connect the monitor signal cable on the back of the monitor to the video connector on the rear panel of the computer .

Setting Up the Monitor Ä CAUTION: This mo nitor supports the VE S A industry standard 100mm mounting holes . T o attach a third party mounting solution to the monitor , four 4mm , 0.7 pitc h, and 10mm long sc re ws ar e re quired (not pr ov ided w ith the monitor).
4 Opera ting t he Monitor Soft war e and U tilities The monitor includes a CD that contains two f iles you can install on your computer: ■ an .INF (Information) file ■ an .ICM (Image Color Matching) file Adobe Reader is supplied on this CD and can be installed from the menu.
Oper ating the Monitor The Imag e Color M atc hing File The .ICM files are data f iles that are used in conjunction with graphics programs to provide consistent color matching from monitor screen to printer , or from scanner to monitor screen. The .ICM file contains a monitor color system prof ile.

Operating the Monito r Adjustin g Monitor Set tings Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) to adjust the screen image based on your vie wing preferences. T o access the OSD, do the follo wing: 1. If the monitor is not already on, press the Power switch to turn on the monitor .
Oper ating the Monitor 6. After adjusting the function, select Save and Return, or Cancel if you don’t w ant to sav e the setting, then select Exit from the Main Menu.

Operating the Monito r For more precise adjustments, run the Adjustment P attern provided on the CD and use the Clock and Clock Phase controls (accessible from the OSD menu) as described in the follo wing section.
Oper ating the Monitor Id entifying Monitor Co nditions Special messages will appear on the monitor screen when identifying the follo wing monitor conditions: ■ � Input Signal Out of Range— Indicates the monitor does not support the input signal because the resolution and/or refresh rate are set higher than the monitor supports.
Operating the Monito r ■ Set On T ime ■ T imer: On/Of f ■ Sleep No w T o set the timer: 1. Press the Menu button on the monitor front panel to display the Adv anced Menu. 2. Scroll down and highlight Management. 3. Press the Menu button to select Management.
Oper ating the Monitor 13. Set the Timer mode to On to acti vate the Sleep T imer settings. 14. When you are finished, select Sav e and Return to exit the menu. The fifth selection, Sleep No w , turns the monitor backlights off immediately and stays in sleep mode until the next On T ime acti vates or a monitor b utton is pressed.

Operating the Monito r C hangin g the C olor T em perature 1. Press the Menu button on the front panel of the monitor to launch the Main Menu of the OSD. 2. Select Advanced Menu to access all options in the Main Menu. 3. Select Color to display the Color T emperature menu.
Oper ating the Monitor 5. T o activ ate a color profile for your monitor , you must set it as the Default Monitor Prof ile. Select “sRGB Color Space Profile, ” then click Set as Default b utton.

T roubleshooting Pro blem P ossible Cau se Solutio n The HP Displa y Lite Saver may not be co mpatible w ith your compu ter syst em . Some notebook computers ar e not compatible and the monitor po wer can not be contr olled. Conf irm that the HP Displa y L iteSa ver is compatible w ith you r sys te m.

When the monitor is in the reduced power state, the monitor will utilize less than 2 watts of po wer . There is a brief warm up period before the monitor will return to its normal operating mode.

D L CD Monitor Q ualit y and Pi x el P o licy The TFT monitor uses high-precision technology , manufactured according to HP standards, to guarantee trouble-free performance. Ne vertheless, the display may hav e cosmetic imperfections that appear as small bright or dark spots.
L CD Monitor Quality and Pi xel P olic y T o locate defectiv e pixels, the monitor should be vie w ed under normal operating conditions, in normal operating mode at a supported resolution and refresh rate, from a distance of approximately 50 cm (16 in.
