1 Product Features HP Passport 1912nm and 1 912nc Internet Monitors The HP Passport 19 12nm and HP Passport 1912 nc Internet monitors are designed to provide easy, simple access to the inter net, streaming views of media conten t (video, audio, phot os) directly through the monito r without the need fo r a PC.

2 Setting Up the Monitor You can install the mon itor on a desktop or mount it on a mounting fixture such as a wall mount or swing arm. Be sure to p lace the monitor in a conv enient, well- ventilated loca tion. Connect the monitor cables after you have installed the m onitor.
Preparing the Monitor for Wall-Mounting NOTE: This apparatus is intended to b e supporte d by UL or CSA Listed wall mount bracket. To attach the monit or to a mounting fixture: 1. Set the monitor screen face down on a flat, soft, pr otected tabl e or desk surface with the support column overha nging the edg e.
4. To attach the monitor to a mounting fixture , insert four 10mm screws through the holes on the mounting plate an d into the mounting h oles on the m onitor. CAUTION: This monitor supports the VESA industry standard 100 mm mounting holes. To attach a third-party mo unting solution to the monitor, four 4 mm, 0.

Connecting the Cables The cable connections required de pends on whether you will operate the monitor as a stand-alone Internet monitor (N et mode) or as a standard e xternal monitor conn ected to a PC (PC mode) .
3. Connect the suppli ed keyboard and mouse (required to navigate) to the USB ports on th e monitor's rear p anel. Figure 2-7 Connecting the Ke yboard and Mouse 4. Connect one end of the po wer cord to the AC power co nnector on the back of th e monitor and the other end to an electrical wa ll outlet.
Connecting the Cables for PC Mode 1. Place the monitor in a convenient, we ll-ve ntilated location near the PC. 2. Connect the suppli ed keyboard and mouse (required to navigate) to the USB ports on th e monitor's rear p anel. Figure 2-9 Connecting the Ke yboard and Mouse 3.
4. Connect the u pstream end of a USB cable to the USB In connector on the mo nitor's rear panel and the downstream end to a USB Out con nector on th e PC. NOTE: This step is optiona l. However, the USB cab le is required for the U SB Out ports and the 4-in-1 med ia card reader on the mo nitor to function in PC mode .
6. Connect one end of the po wer cord to the AC power co nnector on the back of th e monitor and the other end to an electrical wa ll outlet. Figure 2-13 Connecting the Power Cord 7. After turning on power to the monitor, you mu st press the Mode button on the monitor' s front panel to change from Net mode to PC mode.

Adjusting the Tilt For optimal vi ewing, adjust the scr een tilt to your own preference. 1. Face the front of the monitor an d hold the base so that you do not topple the monitor wh ile changing the tilt. 2. Adjust the tilt by moving the top e dge of the monitor either t oward or away from yo u, without touching the screen.
Turning on the Monitor for the First Time After connecting the cables, press the power button on the front of the monitor to turn it on. NOTE: Net mode is the monito r's default mode. You can tog gle between Net mode an d PC mode by pressing the Mode button on the mo nitor's front panel.
3 Using the Net Mode Interface The Net mode Home page is displayed when the monitor is powered on. Click on on e of the icons to use that fe ature of the Inte rnet monitor. NOTE: The user interface and features in this chapter are only a vaila ble when the monitor is in Net mode.
Settings Click this icon to adjust the monitor settings. Home This icon is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen when yo u are not at the Home page.
3. In the Music module, select the media device that you inserted, naviga te to the desired mus ic file and click on it. NOTE: If a photos folder was sel ected in the S lide Sh ow options section of t.
Viewing Photographs You can use the p hotograph viewer to view ph otographs that you ha ve stored on a USB flash media device or media card. NOTE: The photo file name a nd the folder(s) name ca n be any length but ca nnot include special characters or spaces in order fo r the fi le ma nager to recognize the ph oto file.
Adjusting the Settings To configure the settin gs, click the Settings icon on the Net m ode Home page. The Settings m odule includes five tabs for co nfiguring and adjusting the settings: ● Slide Show Options: Sets up and customize a mu sic and photograph slide show.
Date/Time Settings The Date/Time settings allow you to se t the date and time for the monitor. To set the date and time: 1. Select the Date/Time tab in the Settings modul e. 2. Select your time zone to automatically set the date and time or click the Manual button an d manually set the date and time.
NOTE: The monitor must b e connected to the Internet to update the so ftware. Internet access is not provided. Cont act your local Broad band supplier.
4. Enter your new passw ord again in the Verify Password text box. 5. Click the Apply button to save the settings. To cancel a p assword: 1. Select the Password tab in the Settings module. 2. Click the Off button. A password will not be required to access the Setting s module or unlock the monitor's screen 3.

Recognizing Preset Display Resolutions The display resolutions listed below are the most commonly use d modes and are set as fa ctory defaults. This monitor automatica lly recognizes these preset mode s and they will appear properly sized and centered on the screen.
Energy Saver Feature The monitors suppor t a reduced power state. Th e reduced power state will be entered into if the monitor detects the absence of either the horizonta l sync si gnal and/or the vertical sync signal.
