Use the control pane l The c ontrol p anel h as a VG A touc hscreen that p rovides acces s to all devi ce fun ction s. Use the buttons and num eric keyp ad to contro l jobs and the device st atus.

USB connec tion This produ ct supports one USB 2.0 devi ce connec tion. The USB por t is located on the bac k of the produc t. You mus t use an A-to- B type USB cabl e that is n o long er than 2 meter s (6.56 feet). The USB 2.0 p ort can be used to con nect d irectly to the pr oduct and to upgrade firm ware.
Network connec tion All produc t models in clude an embedd ed HP Jetdi rect print server, whi ch suppor ts connecti on to a network using the loc al area network (LAN ) co nnector (R J-45) on the b ack o f the product.

Supported ne twork protoc ols The prod uct s upports the TC P/IP network p rotoc ol, the most widely used and a ccepted net working protoc ol. Ma ny ne tworking serv ices u tiliz e this p rotoc ol. Configu ring network settings You mi ght nee d to c onfigu re cert ain ne twork paramete rs on th e pro duct. You can configur e the se parame ters from the ins talla tion software , the produc t control pane l, the embed ded Web ser ver, or managem ent so ftware, such as HP Web J etadmin.
When tu rned o n, a n ew pro duct t hat is un able t o retrie ve a valid IP ad dress from t he netw ork automati call y assi gns itself a default IP ad dress. The IP addres s for the prod uct is lis ted on the pro duct Configur ation page and the Networ k repor t.

Replace image drums 1. Grasp the g rips on the s ides of the front door and pull down to open. 2. With one hand, l ift an d slowly pull the used image drum out of the p roduct, w hile sup porti ng the image drum with your other han d.
5. Remove the new i mage d rum fro m its protecti ve ba g. NOTE: Store prot ective bag in a secure place for future use. NOTE: Do not s hake the image drum. CAUTION: Do not tou ch the green c ylinder on the bo ttom of the im age d rum beca use it c an damage the drum .
