User Guide 1–1 1 Product Feature s The Flat Panel Display has an acti ve matrix, thin-f ilm transistor (TFT), liquid crystal display (LCD). The monitor features include: ■ HP L1755 model, 17-inch (43.2 cm) vie wable area display , with narro w bezels.

Safety and Maintenance Gui delines User Guide 2–3 ■ Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for v entilation. These openings must not be blocked or co vered. Ne ver push objects of any kind into cabinet slots or other openings. ■ Do not drop your monitor or place it on an unstable surface.
User Guide 3–1 3 Set ting U p t he Monitor T o set up the monitor , ensure that the power is turned of f to the monitor , computer system, and other attached devices, then follo w the steps below .
3–2 User Guide Setting Up the Monitor 2. Pull do wn on the quick release latch 1 on the back of the monitor . 3. Position the tabs on the monitor base with the adapter plate on the back of the display 2 . Then push the monitor base do wn to ward the display 3 until latched into place.

For analog operation, connect one end of the V GA signal cable or the VGA to D VI signal cable to the VGA connector on the monitor and the other end to the VGA connector on the computer . For digital operation (av ailable on select models), use the D VI-D signal cable.

Setting Up the Monitor User Guide 3–13 ✎ Y ou can change your monitor’ s vi ewing position to portrait. T o rotate your display to the portrait position, you will need to install the Pi vot software, which is contained on the CD included with your monitor .
3–14 User Gui de Setting Up the Monitor Rem o vin g t he Mon it or B a s e The monitor base can be remov ed to mount the monitor on a wall, a swing arm or other mounting fixture. Read the caution and warning statements belo w before beginning the procedure.

User Guide 4–1 4 Opera tin g t h e Monitor Soft war e and U tilities The monitor includes a CD that contains two f iles you can install on your computer: ■ an .INF (Information) file ■ an .ICM (Image Color Matching) file Adobe Acrobat Reader is supp lied on this CD and can be installed from the menu.

Oper ating the Monitor User Guide 4–5 Adjustin g Monitor Set ting s Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) to adjust the screen image based on your vie wing preferences. T o access the OSD, do the follo wing: 1. If the monitor is not already on, press the Po wer switch to turn on the monitor .
4–6 User Guide Operating the Monito r 4. T o select an item from the OSD Menu, use the + or – b uttons to scroll to and highlight your selection, then press the Menu button to select that function. 5. Adjust the item using the + or – bu ttons on the front panel to adjust the scale.

4–10 User Gui de Operating the Monito r Adjustin g Sc reen Q ualit y Allo w the monitor to warm up for 20 minutes before performing the follo wing procedures. The Auto-adjustment feature automatically fine-tunes the image quality each time a ne w video mode is utilized.
Oper ating the Monitor User Guide 4–11 ✎ When adjusting the Clock and Clock Phase v alues, if the monitor images become distorted, continue adjusting the v alues until the distortion disappears. T o restore the factory settings, select Y es from the Factory Reset menu in the on-screen display .
4–12 User Gui de Operating the Monito r Sleep Timer Mod e The Sleep T imer mode is an energy-sa ving feature that enables you to set a time for the monitor to po wer on and of f at the same time e very day . This also extends the life of the backlight bulbs in the monitor .

4–14 User Gui de Operating the Monito r C han ging t he C olor T em perature 1. Press the Menu button on the front panel of the monitor to launch the Main Menu of the OSD. 2. Select Adv anced Menu to access all options in the Main Menu. 3. Select Color to display the Color T emperature menu.

Select the “sRGB Color Space Profile.icm” f ile, then click the Add button 5. T o acti vate a color prof ile for your monitor , you must set it as the Default Monitor Prof ile.

This monitor automatically recognizes these preset modes and they will appear properly sized and centered on the screen.
