3 Set ting Up the Monit or To set up the monitor, ensur e that the po wer is tur ned of f to the monit or, comp uter sy stem, and other attached devi ces, then foll ow the inst ructions below. The mon itor f eatures two sets of VESA 100mm mounting holes . Use the top m ounting holes to allo w the display head to be lowered 18.0 5 mm closer to the tab le surfa ce, when use d in landscap e mode.
Selecti ng the Signa l Connectors and Cabl es The m onitor fe atures o ne DVI-D conn ector and one VGA c onnect or capab le of support ing ei ther dig ital or analog input. The v ideo mode is dete rmine d by the connec tor and video cable used. ● For digi tal operati on, use an opt ional DV I-D signa l cable.
Connecting the Monitor 1. Place the moni tor in a conv enient, well-v entila ted lo cation n ear the comp uter. 2. Conn ect one end of the USB h ub cab le to the USB con nector o n the r ear pan el of the compu ter or to a USB hub, a nd the other en d to th e upstrea m USB connec tor on th e monitor .
3. Connect on e end of the power cable to the A C power c onnector o n the b ack of t he mon itor, and the other end to an el ectrica l wall o utlet. Figu re 3- 6 C onnect ing the P ower Cable 4. Adjusting the Monitor 1. Tilt the monito r's pa nel fo rward or backwa rd to set it to a co mfortable eye level. Figure 3-8 Tilting the Monit or 2.
3. Adjust the mo nitor's hei ght so tha t it is parall el to your eye hei ght for a c omfortabl e viewi ng positio n. WARNING! A loc k-down/r elease b utton o n the front of the colu mn pr events the di splay he ad fro m sliding up whe n the moni tor is lifted .

Connecti ng USB Devices The mo nitor provide s two USB c onnector s on the r ear panel to connect devic es such as a di gital cam era, USB k eyboard, or USB mous e. NOT E: You m ust co nnect the U SB hub cable from the monitor to the computer or to a USB hu b to enable t he USB 2.
Mounting Solutions Removing the Mon itor Pedestal Base You can remove t he moni tor pane l from th e pede stal b ase to m ount the panel on a wal l, a swi ng ar m, or other mo unting fi xture. CAUTION: Befor e beginning to dis assembl e the monitor, be su re the moni tor is turned off and the power an d signal c ables ar e both dis connecte d.
2. To mount t he mon itor to a swin g arm, wa ll or o ther m ountin g fixtur e using the HP Quick Release, follow the instr uctio ns provided in the doc ument ation that co mes wit h Quick Releas e.
3. If m ountin g the mo nitor using another manu facturer ’s solu tion, u se the s crews prev iously remove d from the moni tor base to mount the dis play to a swing arm or oth er mounti ng fixture. Consult the docume ntation incl uded w ith the m ountin g fixtur e for a dditio nal ins tructi ons.
Mounting to the Pedestal Base An optio nal HP Quick Re lease ca n be atta ched to the pedestal base. It allo ws you to qui ckly and s ecurely attach some model s of the HP thin client to the monit or.
4 Operating the Monitor Software an d Utilities The CD that co mes with the m onitor conta ins fi les you can install on the compu ter: ● an .INF (Info rmation) fil e ● an .
Inst alling t he .INF and .ICM Fil es After you determ ine that yo u need to upd ate, yo u can in stall the .INF and .IC M file s from the CD or download them . Installin g from the C D To instal l the .IN F and .ICM fi les on the co mputer from the CD: 1.
To use the auto-a djustment feature: 1. Allow the monitor to warm up for 20 minutes befor e adjusting. 2. Press the − /Auto button on the monitor front pa nel. ● You can also pr ess the Menu/Se lect butt on, then selec t Auto-Adjustment from the OSD Main Menu.

Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Contrast Adjustable scale Adjusts the contrast level of the screen. The factory default ran ge is 80. Image Control Adjusts the screen image. Auto Ad justme nt Automatically adjusts the screen image. Horizontal Position Adjusts the position of the screen image left and right .
Icon Main Menu Subm enu Description Power O n Recal l Restores power to the monitor following an unexpected removal of power. Select: ● On ● Off The factory default is On. Mode Display Displays the resolution, refr esh rate and frequenc y information on the screen each time the OSD Main Menu is accessed.
Icon Main Menu Submenu Description Infor mation Selects and displays important information about the monitor. Current Settings Provides the current input video mode. Recommended Settings Provides the recom mended resolution mode and ref resh ra te for the monitor.
Optimizing Digital Conversion This mon itor contai ns advan ced cir cuitry tha t allo ws the flat pane l sc reen to funct ion l ike a st andard monitor . Two c ontrols in the on- screen displa y can be adjus ted to improv e image per formance : Clock and C lock Phas e.
● Multiple Inputs are Active - Use the OSD to select the desired video input - Indicates the monitor is conne cted t o two vid eo inp uts. The mo nitor is trying to disp lay b oth inputs , but after 10 seconds the monitor us es the d efault si gnal inp ut.

sRGB Support The m onitor is d esigned to sup port sRGB for col or manag ement, whi ch adapts to th e color standar ds used i n the ima ge tec hnolog y indus try. To take ad vantage of the s RGB suppo rt, you nee d to change the moni tor’s color tem peratu re to sRGB and inst all the sRGB color profi le (ICM) fil e.
8. Select th e sRGB Color Space Profile.icm file , then cl ick the OK button 9. To activ ate a co lor profile fo r the monitor, y ou must s et it as the De fault Mon itor Profile. Select sRGB Color S pace Profile , th en cl ick the Set as Defa ult button .
