9 Getting Started 1 Getting St ar ted Congr atulations on y our purchas e of the HP Photo smart M415 digital camera , and welcome to the w orld of digital photograph y! This manual explains camera features y ou can use to ensure gre a t re s ul t s wh i l e e n joyi n g t he p h o to g ra p h ic ex p e rie n c e.

The camer a dock allo w s yo u to easily tr ansfer images to a compu ter , s end image s to a pri nter , v iew images on a telev ision , and rec harge batteri es in your camera .
11 Getting Started 2 . Install the Batter ies 1. Open the Bat tery/M emory card door on the side of the camer a by sliding the door to ward the bo ttom of the cam era .

The lens e xtends and the P ow er light to the left of the sw i tch turns on solid green . The HP logo also display s on the Image Display as the camer a powe rs up .
13 Getting Started 5 . Set the R egion After c hoosing a language , y ou ar e prom pted to choo se the continent wher e you liv e . The Lang uag e and Region settings determine the defa ults for the date for mat and the format of the vi deo signal for displa ying camer a images on a tele visi on (see TV Configuration on page 91 ).
