1 Product Features HP w15e LCD Monitor The LCD (liquid crystal disp lay) monitor has an active matrix, thin-film transist or (TFT) panel. The mon itor features include : ● Wide-screen 38.
2 Safety and Maintenance Guidelines Important Safety Information A power cord is include d with the monitor. If ano ther cord is used, use only a power source and connection app ropriate for this monitor. For informat ion on th e correct power cord set to use with the monitor, refer to the Power Cord Set Requirements on page 24 in Appendix C.
Maintenance Guidelines To enhance th e performance and extend the life o f the monitor: ● Do not open the mo nitor cabinet or attempt to se rvice this product yourself.
3 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, ensure that the power is turn ed off to the monitor, co mputer system, and other attached de vices, then follow the instructi ons below. Attaching the Monitor Base 1. Set the base on a flat surface such as a table top.

Connecting the Cables 1. Place the monito r in a convenie nt, well-v entilated locatio n near the computer. 2. Route the cables thro ugh the cable guid e on the rear o f the moni tor pedestal. 3. Connect the VGA signa l cable to the VGA connector on the rear of the monitor and the other end to the VGA conn ector on the computer.
Connecting the Speakers (select models only) 1. Place the speaker set near the monito r so that the speaker with th e controls is on the righ t side when viewing th e monitor from the front. 2. Connect the USB cable on the control speake r to a USB connector on the computer.
Mounting the Monitor Pane l You can remove the monito r panel from the pedestal b ase to install the panel on a wall , a swing arm, or other mountin g fixture. CAUTION: Before beginning to disassem ble the moni tor, be sure the monitor is turne d off and the power and signal cables are both disconne cted.
4. Insert four 10mm scre ws through the holes on the swing arm plate and into the mounting holes on the monitor . Locating the Rating Labels The rating labels on th e monitor provide the spare part number, pro duct number, and serial numb er. You may need these nu mbers when contacting HP about the mon itor model. The ra ting labels are located on the re ar panel of the monitor d isplay head.
4 Operating the Monitor Software and Utilities Install the drivers and software from the CD provided with the monitor or downloa d the latest version of the files from the HP support Web site. Installing from the CD (with select models) To install the drivers an d software files on the computer from th e CD: 1.

Adjusting the Monitor Settings The monitor settin gs can be adjust ed from the On-Scree n Display (OSD) me nu. Using the On-Screen Display Menu Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) to ad just the screen image based on your viewing prefer ences. To access the OSD, do the following: 1.
OSD Menu Selections The following table lists the On-Scre en Display (OSD ) menu selections and their fu nctional descripti ons. Settings will be sav ed automatically afte r adjustments are made. Icon Main Menu Submen u Description Language Selects the language in which the OSD menu is displayed. The factory default is English. Recall Returns all OSD menu settings and D DC/CI controls to the factory default settings, except the Language. Miscellaneous Selects Sharpness, DDC/CI, and Display Information features of the monitor.
Optimizing Digital Conversion Two controls in the on-scree n display can be adjust ed to imp rove image performa nce: Pixel Clock and Phase. NOTE: The Pixel Clock and Pha se controls are adj ust able only when using an ana log input. These controls are not adjustab le for digital inputs.
