7 3. Setting Up Y our Phone 1 Install the SIM card Open the cov er and remov e the battery 1. Hold the phone in one hand with the keypad facing down in the palm of your hand. With your other hand, pr ess down on the back cov er and slide it open. 2. Remove the batt er y by lifting it up from the bottom end.
8 2 Install the Micro SD card Y ou can install a Micro SD (Secure Dig ital) card in your phone to hav e an alternative stor age place for y our images, video , music, and other phone data. 1. Remove the back co ver of the phone. 2. Inser t the M icro SD card int o the slot with its gold contacts facing down.
9 4 T urn on your phone Pr ess and hold the POWER button on left side of the phone to turn on the phone. 5 Install ActiveS ync ActiveSync synchr onizes information between y our phone and your PC, keeping information up to date in both devic es. Before y ou connect your phone to your PC, y ou must install ActiveSync on the PC.

Y ou can also use A c tiveSync t o synchronize the Internet Explorer fav orites on your PC with your phone so you can use them with Internet Explorer Mobile as well .
14 8. Using P ic tures & V ideo The P ic tures & Videos program allo ws you to view pictures and play GIF animation files and video clips on your phone . Y ou can also view the pictures as a slide show , beam them, send them via a messaging prog ram, edit them, or set them as the background on the Home screen.
15 9. Securing your Phone There ar e several levels of security on your phone . Y ou can pr otect your phone from unauthorized use by requiring a type of passwor d called a PIN (personal identification number) in order to make calls. Y our first PIN will be giv en to you by y our wireless ser vice provider .
