14 2.6. 2 Noti fi cati on Panel Your mobile phone will notify you wh en you receive a new message or there is an upcoming event. The notification panel also inf orms you of alarms and settings. Open the notification panel to see your network operat or or to view a message, remind er, or event no tification.
15 2.6.4 Customizing the H ome Screen Adding a New Home Scree n It em 1. Touch and hold a blank area on the Home sc reen until the Add to home screen menu is displayed. You can also touch > Add on the Home screen to display the Add to home screen menu.

17 2.8 Using a microSD Card 2.8. 1 (Optio nal) Instal li ng the micr oSD Card If you want to expand your pho ne memory, you can also insert a microSD card. 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert the microSD card into t he card slot as shown in t he diagram.
18 3 Calling To make a phone call, you can dia l a number using the keypad or touc h a number saved in your contact list, on a webpage, or in a document. When you are in a call, you can answer other incoming c alls or redirect them to your v oicemail.
19 3.1. 3 Making a Cal l fr om Call log 1. If you are already working with Contacts or Dialer , touch the Call lo g tab. 2. Touch to the right of the log entry to dial. If you touch and ho ld a log entry, the options menu will open. 3.2 Answering or Re jecting a Call 3.

21 3.3. 2 Switch ing Bet ween Call s If you receive a new ca ll while you are already in a ca l l, you can switch bet w een the two calls. 1. While you are in the first call and the s econd call comes in, answer the incoming call, and then touch Manage calls .
22 1. Connect the TTY device to the head set jack of the phone and set the phone to the TTY mode. 2. Make or answer calls as normal. 3. When the call is put through, use the TTY device to send or r eceive the letters. 4. Press the End to end the call.
23 2. If you have more than one account with contacts, touch t he account to which y ou want to add the cont act. 3. Enter the contact's name, and then add de tailed information such as phon e number and address. 4. When you are finished, touch Save to save the contact information.

27 5 Using the Onscreen Keyboard 5.1 Displaying the Keyboard To enter text, use the onsc reen keyboard. So me applications open the keyboard automatically. In others, touch a text field to open the ke yboard. Touch to hide the k eyboard. Touch and hold a text field to open the Edit text menu.
28 5.1.3 Using the Lan dscape Keyboard If you find the keyboard incon venient or difficult to use, turn your mobile phone sideways. The screen will display the keyboard in landscape orientat ion, providing you with a w ider keyboard layout. 5.2 Customizing Keyboard Setti ngs 1.

33 7 Getting Connected 7.1 Mobile Networks Your mobile phone will be automatically configured to use your network operator’s 2G/3G service (if av ailable) when you turn on the phon e for the first time. Note that th e SIM/UIM card must be inserted (so me CDMA mobile phones have an integrated UIM card and do not need a separat e UIM card) 7.
34 7.2.2 Connecting to a W ir eless Network 1. After turning on Wi-Fi, touch > Settings . 2. Touch Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi setti ngs . You will see a list of detected Wi-Fi networks in the Wi-Fi networks section. 3. Touch a Wi-Fi network to connect to it.

43 9 Google Services Availability of Google applications, servic es, and features may vary according to your country or carrier. Pl ease follow local laws and regulat ions to use them.
44 9.2 Gmail Gmail is Google’s web-based email s ervice. When you first set up your phone, you may have configured it to use an existing Gmail account or create a new account. The first time you open the Gmail application on your phone, yo ur Inbox will contain the messages from your Gmail web account.

49 10.1.1 Adding an Account When you add an account , the Contacts application compares cont acts from the newly synchronized ac count with contact s from your existing mo bile phone accounts and attempts to merge duplicate s into a single entry in Contacts .
50 remove some accounts, suc h as the first account you signed into on the mobile phone. If you attempt to remove cert ain accounts, all personal information associated with it will be deleted. You can only remove the first Google Account by resetting the phone to factory defaults.
