6 1.4 T urning the T ablet on or off 1.4.1 T o turn the T ablet on Before you turn the T a blet on , ensu re tha t the S IM ca rd has been corre ctly ins t alled and tha t the batte ry is correctl y installe d or t he T able t has b een p roperl y con nected to the power supply .

8 1.5.2 Charging Partner The Cha rging Partne r is a portable storage batte ry tha t can b e use d to s upply p ower to you r T ablet. The Charg ing Part ner is opti onal. It may not be pro vided wi th your T ab let. If you wa nt to buy a C harging Part ner, select a co rrect m odel f or yo u r T ablet .
9 Using the Charging Partner to charge the tablet Y ou can u se the C har ging Partn er to c harge your T abl et. Connec t the Ch argin g Partn er to the T able t, as shown in the follow ing fig ure.
10 1.6 Working w ith the keys Y ou can e njoy a variet y of fun ctions and sh ortcuts by using the physica l key s in ad dition to the soft b uttons. Power − Press to turn on the T ablet when it is off. − Press to turn off and lock the screen when the T ablet is on.
11 − When the T ablet is ringing, press to silence the rin ger . − On the Home screen when no call is in progress, press to increase or decrease t he ringtone volume, or set the T ablet to be silent instead of ringin g. − In other applications, press to contr ol the volume of music, spo ken directions, and other audio.
12 1.8 Home screen The Home screen is the starting point to ac cess all the applications. When you sign in , press the Home key , the Home screen opens. Y o u can customi ze the Home scr een with different wallpapers and display the items you want. 1.

14 1.8.3 Customizing the Home screen Y ou can add items such a s shortcuts, widgets, Emotion widgets and folders to the Home screen if there is eno ugh room. Y ou can also change the wallpaper of the Home screen. T o add an item 1. Flick the Home screen to where you want to add the item.
15 For example, you can touch Folder s > New folder to add a f older to the Home screen, and drag items on the scre en to your folder . If there are not enou gh roo m on the H ome scre en, the add actio n will be n eglec ted wit h prompt such a s This group ha s no room .
16 T o rename a folder 1. Open a folder . Then touch and hold the title bar of the folder wi ndow until the Rename folder dialog appears. 2. Enter a new name, and then touc h OK . 1.9 Locking and unlocking the screen 1.9.1 T o lock the screen When th e T ablet is on, press the Power key to turn o ff and lo ck the sc reen .
17 1.9.4 T o set unlock p attern T o set t he unlo ck patt ern, you can p ress th e Home key to go to the Ho me sc reen and pr ess the Menu key , and the n touch Settings > Location & secur ity > Set up scr een lock > Pattern , and t hen foll ow the instru ction s on th e scre en .
18 − T ouch the DEL key to erase a character to the left of the cursor . T ouch and hold the DEL key to erase all characters to t he left of the cursor . − T ouch the Symbols key (?12 3) to switch to the numbers and s ymbols keyboard, and touch the alphabet key (ABC) to switch back.
19 6. T ouch Cut or Copy . After you cut or copy text, the text is store d in a tempo rary area so that you can pa ste it i nto other te xt field . Befo re you can pa ste, you must have cut or c opied text a t least for once . Once yo u cut or cop y text, you ca n paste multip le time s.
20 If you recently opened the settings list, you can touch the Even t button on the status bar to display Event Man ager , and tou ch Settings in the T asks scroll li st tha t open s. 1.13 Setting date and time By defa ult, the T ablet automati cally uses th e netw ork p rovide d date , time zone , and ti me.
21 T o remove the microSD card , slightly push the card further into the slot, and wait for it to eject ou t for about 2 mm, and t hen re move i t. 1.15 Connecting to or disconne cting from a computer via USB T o conn ect yo ur T able t to a co mput er via U SB, do as fo llows .
22 1. Use the USB cable that came with your T ablet to connect the T ablet to a USB port on your computer . The T ablet displays a notification indicating that the USB is connected. 2. T ouch the Event button to open the Event Manager and touc h USB connected in the Notifications list.

26 2.2 Bluetooth Bluetoo th is a short -ra nge wir eless c ommu nicatio n techn ology for e xchang ing info rmati on betwee n Bluetoo th device s such as headphones and mobile phones over a dist an ce of abou t 10 mete rs.
27 2.2.4 Connecting to Bluetooth devices The firs t time you co nnect to a B luetoo th devi ce, you mu st pair th e Blueto oth of your T ablet with the Blueto oth de vice to ma ke sure they conne ct secu rely to each other. And you ca n simply c onnec t to a paired de vice when Blueto oth is o n.

44 2. Enter a mobile ph one number, or the name of a contact with a mobile number in the To field. As you type, matching contacts appear . Y ou can touch a suggested contact or continue your entering. 3. T ouch the composition text field to enter your message text.

46 4. When your entering is finished, flick the page to the bottom and touch Done to save the contact details to your T ablet. 8.3 Searching for cont acts 1. Open the Contact s screen. 2. T ouch Search . 3. Enter the name of the contact you are se arching for .
47 3. T ouch and hold the phone number to us e as the default phone number. 4. T ouch Make default number in the menu that opens. The default phone number is marked with a checkmark.
48 2. T ouch and hold a contact to open the contexts menu, and touch Add to favorites . Y ou can also touch the gray star to the right of the contact name while viewing details of th e contact. The star turns to red and the contact is added to your favorites.
