5 2.2 Installing Your Phone 2.2.1 Installing the SIM/USIM Card Follow the steps below to install the SIM/USIM card. 1. Remove the bac k cover. 2. Flip the compartm ent cover to open it.
6 2. Insert the microSD card unt il it clicks into place. ■ Note: Before installin g the microSD card, po wer your phone off, to preven t the data stored in the microSD card from bein g lost. 2.2.3 Charging the Battery The mobile phone comes with a built-in bat tery.

11 2.6.5 Notificati ons Panel Open the notifications panel to view ongoi ng phone activities or more notification s. Opening the Notifications Panel 1. Touch and hold the notification s bar, then flick down to open the notifications panel. 2. Do any of t he following: • Touch a notifica tion to open the related app lication.
12 Moving a S creen Item 1. Touch and hold the item on the Home scree n until the item enlarges and becomes moveable. This is the edit screen mode. 2. Without lifting your finger, dr ag the item to the desired pos ition on the Home screen. 3. Release your finger to comple te move.
13 3 Contacts Contacts is your phonebook t hat lets you save inform ation such as names , phone numbers, email addresses, pictures, etc. 3.1 Opening Contacts Do one of the following t o open Contacts : • Touch > Contacts . • Touch > Contacts .
14 3.4 Searching for Contacts 1. In the contact list, touch > Search . 2. Enter the name of the cont act you want to sear ch. As you type, match ed contacts appear below the s earch box. 3.5 Editing Contacts 1. In the contact list, touch and hold the contact that y ou want to edit, then to uch Edit contact .
15 4 Calling To make a phone call, you ca n dial a number or touch a number from y our contact lis t, a web page, or a d ocument. W hen you are o n a call, you can answer ot her incoming calls or send th em to your voic email box or se t up conf erence calls w ith severa l participants .
16 4.2 Answering or Rejecting a Call 4.2.1 Answering an Inco ming Call When a call co mes in, an inco ming call message is d isplayed on th e screen. If th e caller is listed in Contacts , the contact ’s name and number ap pear on the screen. To answer the call, dra g to the right.
17 4.3 Other Operations During a Call When a new call is received d uring a call, you can answer the new call and put the current o ne on hold, switch between ca lls, or set up a confer ence call. 4.3.1 Making a Confere nce Call Conference call allow s you to set up a phone conv ersation with multiple par ticipants at the same time.
18 4.4 Using Call Log Call lo g contains the most rec ent calls you have d ialed, received or miss ed. In the call log list , touch an entry to view the call details and ac cess other options . 4.4.1 Adding an Entry to Contacts 1. Touch > Call lo g .
19 5 Entering Text 5.1 Displaying the Keyboard Panel Some applications, such as mess aging, automatica lly displays the keyboard. In ot hers, touch t he text field to display the keyboa rd. 23 6 Messaging Use Messaging to exchange text ( SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages . 6.1 Creating and Sending Text Messages A text message can only cont ain letters, numbers, and symb ols. A multimedia message can contain image, audio, or v ideo files.

25 7 Getting Connected 7.1 Using GPRS/3G Connection Your phone can con nect to the Intern et via Wi-Fi or netwo rk data connect ion, such as GPRS or 3G connection. Wh en both Wi-Fi and netw ork data connection a re available, the mobile ph one prefers the Wi-Fi connec tion.
26 • If you select an unsecured netwo rk, touch Connect to establish the conne ction. • If you select a sec ured netwo rk for the firs t time, enter t he password , then touch Connect .
27 7.4 Using Bluetooth Bluetooth allows you to share files, talk ha nds-free, or transf er files to other Bl uetooth devices within a 10-met er (33 f eet) di stance. 7.4.1 Turning On Bluetooth 1. Touch > Settings . 2. Touch Wireless & networks , and then s elect the Bluetooth check box to turn on B luetooth.

29 8 Using the Internet Your phone can connec t to the Internet via Wi- Fi or a mobile network connection. When both Wi-Fi and mobile network conn ection are present at the same time, your phone auto matically prefers the Wi- Fi connection. 8.1 Browser Use Browser to access and surf the Inter net.

When you turn on your pho ne for the f irst time and op en a Google se rvice, you w ill be prompted to enter your us ername and passwo rd.

41 10 Synchronizing Information Some applications on you r mobile phone give yo u access to the same pers onal information that you can add, vi ew, and edit on your co mputer. If you add, change, or delete your information in any of these applic ations on the web, the upd ated information also app ears on your mob ile phone.

46 12 Managing Your Mobile Phone To configure your mobile phon e, touch > Settings . 12.1 Setting the Date and Time By default, yo ur mobile phone automa tically uses the date , time zone, and time p rovided by the network.
47 12.3.2 Adjusting th e Volume You can adjust the volume from the Home sc reen or any applicat ion screen (except during a call or when playing music o r videos). Pres s the Volume keys to adjust the volume to t he level you desire. You can also adjust th e ringtone, media, or alarm volume from the s ettings screen.
48 12.4.2 Turning On Data Roaming 1. On the Settings screen, touch Wireless & networks > Mobile networks . 2. Select the Data roami ng check box. ■ Note: Accessing data services while roaming may inc ur additional charges. Ask your network service provider about data ro aming fees.
