5 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION Read these instructions and this man u al in its entirety before y ou attempt to assemble or oper ate your ne w snow throw er . Y our new sno w thrower has been as sem bled at the f actor y with the ex cep tion of those par ts left unassembled f or shipping pur poses.
6 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION INST ALL A UGER CONTROL R OD (See Figs. 5 and 6) The auger control rod has the shor t loop on the end of the spring as shown. 1. Slide rubber slee v e up rod and hook end of spring into control ar m with loop opening up as shown.
7 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION CHECK TIRE PRESSURE The tires on your sno w thrower w ere ov erinfl ated at the f ac- tor y f or shipping pur poses. Correct and equal tire pres sure is impor tant for best sno w throwing perf or mance. • Reduce tire pressure to 14-17 PSI.

9 OPERA TION Choke control - used f or star ting a cold engine. Drive speed control le ver - used to select f orward or re verse motion and speed of sno w thrower . T raction drive contr ol lever - used to engage po wer-pro- pelled for w ard or rev erse motion of snow thrower .
10 The operation of any sno w throw er can result in f oreign objects thrown into the e yes, which can result in se vere e ye damage . Alwa ys wear saf ety glasses or ey e shields while operating your sno w thrower or perf or ming any ad just - ments or repairs.
11 OPERA TION DRIVE SPEED CONTROL LEVER TRA CTION DRIVE CONTROL LEVER AU G E R CONTROL LEVER T O THRO W SNO W (See Fig. 14) The auger rotation is controlled by the auger control le ver located on the right side handle. • Squeeze auger control le v er to handle to engage the auger and throw sno w .
12 T O ADJUST SKID PLA TES (See Fig. 16) NO TE: The wrench provided in your parts bag may be used to adjust the skid plates. Skid plates are located on each side of the auger housing and adjust the clearance between the scr aper bar and the ground surf ace.
13 COLD ST ART - ELECTRIC ST ARTER 1. Inser t saf ety ignition ke y into the ignition slot until it clicks . DO NO T tur n the ke y . K eep the extra saf ety ignition ke y in a saf e place. 2. Place throttle control in F AST position. 3. Rotate choke control to FULL position.
14 MAINTENANCE LUBRICA TION CHART GENERAL REC OM MEN DA TIONS The warranty on this sno w throw er does not cov er items that hav e been sub ject ed to operator abuse or negligence. T o receive full v alue from the warranty , operator must maintain snow thro wer as in str uct ed in this manual.
15 MAINTENANCE V- B E LT S Check V -belts f or deter ioration and wear after e very 50 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Replace belts if they begin to slip from wear . (See “T O REMO VE BEL T COVER” in the Ser vice and Adjustments section of this manual).

17 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O REPLA CE BEL TS (See Fig. 20) The auger and traction drive belts are not adjustab le. If the belts are damaged or begin to slip from wear , they should be replaced. It is recommended that the belt(s) be replaced by a qualifi ed service center .
18 ST ORA GE Immediately prepare your sno w thrower f or storage at the end of the season or if the unit will not be used for 30 da ys or more. W ARNING: Never store the sno w thro wer with gaso line .
