4 – English INTR ODUCTION Dear Customer , Thank y ou f or choosing a Husqvarna Rider . Husqvarna Riders are built to a unique design with a front-mounted cutting unit and a patented rear-wheel steering system. Riders are designed for maximum efficiency e ven in small or confined areas.

English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Ne ver allo w children or other persons not trained in the use of the machine to use or ser vice it. Local laws ma y regulate the age of the user . • Use hearing protection to minimise the r isk of hearing impairment.
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Do not tr y to stabilize the machine b y putting your f oot on the ground. • When cleaning the chassis, the machine ma y nev er be driven near v erges or ditches. • F ollow the manuf acturer’ s recommendations regarding wheel weights or counterbalance weights to increase machine stability .

English – 13 PRESENT A TION Presentation Cong ratulations on y our choice of an e xcellent quality product that will give y ou great pleasure for man y years . This operator’ s manual describes Rider 15V2 and Rider 15V2 AW D. The machines are equipped with a 15 horse power engine from Kaw asaki.
14 – English PRESENT A TION The Combi-unit, equipped with a BioClip-plug, finely chops the cuttings to f er tiliser . Without the BioClip-plug the unit works in the same wa y as a rear ejection unit. Lifting lever f or the cutting unit The lift le ver is used to set the cutting unit in tr anspor t or mowing position.
English – 15 Driving Bef ore star ting • Read the saf ety instructions and information concer ning the placement of controls and functions bef ore star ting. • P erform daily maintenance before starting as set out in the Maintenance schedule. Star t the engine 1 Make sure that the clutch control is depressed.
16 – English Driving 8 Let the engine run at moderate speed or half throttle for 3- 5 minutes bef ore subjecting it to heavy load. 9 Set the required engine speed with the throttle control. Star ting the engine with a weak battery If the batter y is too weak to star t the engine, it should be recharged.
English – 17 Driving 4 Press in the lock b utton on the lifting le ver and lo wer the cutting unit. Cutting tips • Localise and mark stones and other fixed objects to a void collision. • Star t with a high cutting height and reduce down until the required mowing results are obtained.
18 – English Driving Release lever The release control must be pulled out in order f or the machine to be mov ed when the engine is shutoff . Pull the controls to the end positions, do not use an intermediate position. Release lever Rider 15V2 A WD Rider 15V2 A WD has one control for the front axle and one control f or the rear axle.
English – 19 Maintenance Maintenance schedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance which should be conducted on the machine. For those points not described in this manual, visit an authorised ser vice workshop. 1) If the machine is used daily it should be lubricated twice a week.
20 – English Maintenance Cleaning Clean the machine directly after use. It is much easier to wash off grass cuttings bef ore they dr y . Oily dir t can be remov ed using a cold degreasing agent. Spra y on a thin la yer . Rinse at normal water pressure.
English – 21 Maintenance 1 Remov e the frame plate b y loosening the screws (2) and lift the frame plate b y the rear edge. 2 Check the tension of the steering wires by squeezing them together by the arro ws as illustrated.
22 – English Maintenance 1 Loosen the clamping screw f or the cable’ s outer casing and mov e the throttle to the full throttle position. 2 Check that the throttle wire is attached to the correct hole in the lower le ver , see diagram. 3 Pull the throttle wire casing to the f ar left and tighten the clamping screw .
English – 23 Maintenance 6 If the paper filter is still dir ty it should be replaced with a new one . Alwa ys replace the paper filter ev er y 200 hours.
24 – English Maintenance Check the saf ety system The machine is equipped with a saf ety system that pre vents starting or dr iving under the follo wing conditions. The engine should only be possible to start when the cutting unit is in its raised position and the hydrostat pedals are in the neutr al position.
English – 25 Maintenance Main fuse The main fuse is placed in a detachable holder under the batter y case’ s cover , in front of the batter y . T ype: Flat pin, 15 A. Do not use any other type of fuse when replacing. A blo wn fuse is indicated by a b urnt connector .
26 – English Maintenance Mak e sure the support wheels are fitted to the cutting unit (1). 2 Grasp the handle at the front or hold the frame of the cutting unit (2) and slide the unit underneath the r ider mower . Make sure that the tongue (3) on the cutting unit engages correctly .
English – 27 Maintenance 2 Place the machine on a flat surf ace. 3 Put the lifting le ver in the mo wing position. 4 Place a set of bathroom scales under the cutting unit’ s frame (front edge) so that it rests on the scales. If necessar y a bloc k can be placed between the frame and scales so that the suppor t wheels do not bear any weight.
28 – English Maintenance 3 Loosen the spring (4) that tensions the V -belt and pr y off the belt. Simply re verse the procedure to fit the ne w belt. Service position for the cutting unit The cutting head can be placed in the service position to provide easy access f or cleaning, repairs and ser vicing.
English – 29 Maintenance 7 Engage the strut in the holder . 8 Lift of the drive belt. Then pull out the pin. 9 Pull the frame f orwards and refit the pin.
30 – English Lubrication Checking the engine’ s oil level. Check the oil le vel in the engine when the Rider stands horizontal with the engine s witched off. Open the engine cov er . Loosen the dipstick, pull it up and wipe it off . Now insert the dipstick again, without tightening it.
English – 31 Lubrication Fill with new oil according to Chec king the engine’ s oil lev el. Star t the engine and let it idle for about 3 min utes. Now stop it and check f or signs of leakage. Fill with oil to compensate f or the oil held in the new oil filter .

English – 33 Storage Winter stora ge At the end of the season, or if the machine is going to stand idle f or more than 30 days , it should immediately be made ready f or storage. Fuel which is left to stand for long periods (30 da ys or more) can leav e tacky deposits which can b lock the carburettor and interf ere with the engine.
