English – 3 Service journal Pre-delivery ser vice 1 1a. Dry-char ged battery (5067888-01): T op up battery with acid and charge for f our hours. 1b. Wet-charged battery (5101385-01): Charge at 3 ampere f or 4 hours. 2 Fit steering wheel, seat and any optional equipment.
4 – English INTR ODUCTION Dear Customer , Thank you f or choosing a Husqvarna Rider . Husqvarna Riders are built to a unique design with a front-mounted cutting unit and a patented rear-wheel steering system. Riders are designed for maximum efficiency e ven in small or confined areas.

English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Ne ver allo w children or other persons not trained in the use of the machine to use or ser vice it. Local laws ma y regulate the age of the user . • Use hearing protection to minimise the r isk of hearing impairment.
10 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Do not tr y to stabilize the machine b y putting your foot on the ground. • When cleaning the chassis, the machine ma y nev er be driven near v erges or ditches. • F ollow the manuf acturer’ s recommendations regarding wheel weights or counterbalance weights to increase machine stability .

English – 13 PRESENT A TION Presentation Congratulations on y our choice of an excellent quality product that will give y ou great pleasure for man y years . This operator’ s manual describes Rider 15V2, Rider 15V2s A WD and Rider 15V2 A WD . The machines are equipped with a 15 horse power engine from Kaw asaki.
14 – English PRESENT A TION Cutting unit Rider 15V2, Rider 15V2s A WD and 15V2 A WD can be equipped with two diff erent cutting units. • Combi 1030mm/41” • Combi 1120 mm/44” The Combi-unit, equipped with a BioClip-plug, finely chops the cuttings to f er tiliser .
English – 15 PRESENT A TION The seat can also be adjusted lengthwa ys. T o adjust move the le ver under the front edge of the seat to the left, so that the seat can be mov ed forward or bac kwards to the required position. Fuelling The engine runs on unleaded petrol with a minimum octane rating of 87 (not mix ed with oil).
16 – English Driving Bef ore star ting • Read the saf ety instructions and information concer ning the placement of controls and functions bef ore star ting. • P erform daily maintenance before starting as set out in the Maintenance schedule. Star t the engine 1 Make sure that the clutch control is depressed.
English – 17 Driving 8 Let the engine run at moderate speed or half throttle for 3- 5 minutes bef ore subjecting it to heavy load. 9 Set the required engine speed with the throttle control. Star ting the engine with a weak battery If the batter y is too weak to start the engine, it should be recharged.
18 – English Driving 4 Press in the lock b utton on the lifting lev er and lower the cutting unit. Cutting tips • Localise and mark stones and other fixed objects to a v oid collision. • Star t with a high cutting height and reduce down until the required mowing results are obtained.
English – 19 Maintenance Maintenance schedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance which should be conducted on the machine . For those points not described in this man ual, visit an authorised ser vice workshop. 1) If the machine is used daily it should be lubricated twice a week.
20 – English Maintenance Cleaning Clean the machine directly after use. It is much easier to w ash off grass cuttings bef ore they dry . Oily dir t can be remov ed using a cold degreasing agent. Spra y on a thin layer . Rinse at normal water pressure.
English – 21 Maintenance 1 Remov e the frame plate by loosening the screws (2) and lift the frame plate b y the rear edge. 2 Check the tension of the steering wires by squeezing them together by the arro ws as illustrated.
22 – English Maintenance If adjustment is necessar y , adjust the lower wire as f ollows: 1 Loosen the clamping screw f or the cable’ s outer casing and mov e the throttle to the full throttle position. 2 Check that the throttle wire is attached to the correct hole in the lower le ver , see diagram.
English – 23 Maintenance 5 T ap the paper filter against a hard surface to shak e off the dust. 6 If the paper filter is still dir ty it should be replaced with a new one . Alwa ys replace the paper filter ev ery 200 hours. 7 Put the pre-filter and paper filter back into the air filter unit.
24 – English Maintenance Chec k the safety system The machine is equipped with a saf ety system that pre vents star ting or driving under the following conditions . The engine should only be possible to start when the cutting unit is in its raised position and the h ydrostat pedals are in the neutral position.
English – 25 Maintenance Replacing the light b ulbs F or inf ormation about the bulb type, see T echnical Data. 1 Loosen the lock n ut and remov e the Allen bolt. Remov e the steering wheel. 2 Unscrew the tw o screws holding the co v er on the power ser v o housing.
26 – English Maintenance Chec king the tyre pressure The tyre pressure should be 60 kP a (0.6 kp/cm 2 /8.5 PSI) all round. T o improve driving the pressure on the rear tyres can be reduced to 40 kP a (0.4 kp/cm 2 /5.6 PSI). The maximum tyre pressure is 100 kP a (1,0 kp/cm 2 /14 PSI).
English – 27 Maintenance 6 Press down the frame and remo ve the pin. 7 Slide the unit in and inser t the pin. Make sure that the tongue (3) on the cutting unit engages correctly . 8 Fit the drive belt around the drive wheels of the cutting unit. 9 Hook up the height adjustment strut.
28 – English Maintenance 4 Place a set of bathroom scales under the cutting unit’ s frame (front edge) so that it rests on the scales. If necessar y a bloc k can be placed between the frame and scales so that the suppor t wheels do not bear any weight.
English – 29 Maintenance Service position for the cutting unit The cutting head can be placed in the ser vice position to provide easy access f or cleaning, repairs and ser vicing. In the ser vice position the cutting unit is raised and loc ked in the vertical position.
30 – English Maintenance 8 Lift of the drive belt. Then pull out the pin. 9 Pull the frame f orwards and refit the pin. 10 Grasp the front edge of the cutting unit, pull out and raise into the ser vice position. If the cylindrical bolt, which is now holding the cutting unit is remov ed, the cutting unit can be lifted off.
English – 31 Lubrication Chec king the engine’ s oil level. Check the oil le vel in the engine when the Rider stands horizontal with the engine s witched off . Open the engine cov er. Loosen the dipstick, pull it up and wipe it off . Now insert the dipstick again, without tightening it.
32 – English Lubrication Fill with new oil according to Chec king the engine’s oil le vel. Star t the engine and let it idle for about 3 min utes. No w stop it and check f or signs of leakage. Fill with oil to compensate f or the oil held in the new oil filter .

34 – English Storage Winter storage At the end of the season, or if the machine is going to stand idle f or more than 30 da ys, it should immediately be made ready f or storage. Fuel which is left to stand for long periods (30 da ys or more) can leav e tacky deposits which can bloc k the carburettor and interf ere with the engine.
