8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Hand guar d The hand guard pre vents hands from coming into contact with the moving b lades, f or example , if the operator loses grip on the front handle. Check that the hand guard is fitted correctly . Check that the hand guard is undamaged.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Blades T o ensure good cutting results it is impor tant that the contact pressure between the b lades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as f ar as they will go .
10 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any part of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
12 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Inspect the working area. Remov e any objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Nev er use blades that are dull, crac ked or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order .
English – 13 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!). Gr ip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with y our right hand until you feel some resistance (the star ter pawls g r ip), now quic kly and powerfully pull the cord.

English – 15 W ORKING TECHNIQUES Safety instructions after completing w ork • The transpor t guard should alwa ys be fitted to the cutting attachment when the machine is not in use. • Make sure the cutting attachment has stopped bef ore cleaning, carr ying out repairs or an inspection.
16 – English MAINTENANCE Carb uretor Y our Husqv arna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.

First turn the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the b lades star t to mov e. Then turn the idle adjustment screw T anticlockwise until the blades stop .
18 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the w or king temperature as lo w as possible the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the flywheel. 3 Cooling fins on the cylinder .
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Gear housing There is a grease nipple and a plug f or filling lubricant on the gear housing. Use a grease gun to fill with g rease. This should be done after e very 60 working hours. Use Husqv ar na’ s special grease, no .
