4 – English INTR ODUCTION Dear Customer , Congratulations on y our choice to buy a Husqvarna product! Husqvarna is based on a tradition that dates back to 1689, when the Swedish King Charles XI ordered the construction of a factory on the banks of the Husqvarna River , for production of m uskets .

8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to minimize vibration and mak e operation easier . The machine ′ s vibration damping system reduces the transf er of vibration between the engine unit/cutting equipment and the machine ′ s handle unit.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Blades T o ensure good cutting results it is impor tant that the contact pressure between the b lades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as f ar as they will go .
10 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the hand guar d and loop handle (325HD A55,323HE3,325HE3) 1 Assemble the hand guard and loop handle b y screwing them together . T ak e care to align the holes in both par ts. 2 Slide the loop handle and hand guard onto the shaft.
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver start the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vapor ate. 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
12 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by fi lling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
English – 13 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remov e any objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Nev er use blades that are dull, crac ked or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order .
14 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting Hold the body of the machine on the ground using y our left hand (CA UTION! Not with your f oot!). Grip the star ter handle, slowly pull out the cord with y our right hand until you f eel some resistance (the star ter pawls g rip), now quickly and powerfully pull the cord.
English – 15 W ORKING TECHNIQUES General w orking instructions P ersonal protection • Alwa ys wear boots and other equipment described under the heading P ersonal protective equipment. • Alwa ys wear working clothes and heavy-duty long trousers.
16 – English W ORKING TECHNIQUES • If anything jams in the b lades while you are w orking, s witch off the engine and wait until it has stopped completely bef ore cleaning the blades .

18 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed with the idle adjustment screw T , if adjustment is necessar y . First turn the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the b lades star t to move . Then tur n the idle adjustment screw T anticlockwise until the blades stop .
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
20 – English MAINTENANCE Gear housing There are three grease nipples on the gear housing. Use a grease gun to top up with grease . This should be carr ied out appro ximately e very 20 working hours. Use Husqvarna special grease, part no. 503 98 96-01.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Maintenance schedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance that must be perf or med on the machine. Most of the items are descr ibed in the Maintenance section. The user must only carr y out the maintenance and ser vice work described in this Operator’ s Manual.
