English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibr ation damping system that is designed to minimise vibration and mak e operation easier . The machine ′ s vibration damping system reduces the transf er of vibration between the engine unit/cutting equipment and the machine ′ s handle unit.
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Check that the throttle control and throttle loc k move freely and that the return spr ings work properly . • See instructions under the heading Star t. Star t the hedge trimmer and apply full throttle. Release the throttle trigger and check that the b lades stop and remain stationar y .
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Assembl y of the catcher (accessory) Loosen the nuts on top of the bar . Align the bolts in the holes on the catcher and fit the bolts. Adjust the b lades' contact pressure according to the instructions under the heading Blades Gear housing • The gear housing gets hot when the machine has been in use.
8 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS T ranspor t and storage • Store and transpor t the machine and fuel so that there is no risk of any leakage or fumes coming into contact with sparks or naked flames, f or example , from electrical machiner y , electric motors, electrical relays/s witches or boilers.
English – 9 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Check the w orking area for f oreign objects such as electricity cables, insects and animals , etc, or other objects that could damage the cutting attachment, such as metal items. • If any f oreign object is hit or if vibrations occur stop the machine immediately .

English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a tw o-stroke engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of petrol and two- stroke engine oil. It is important to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
12 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remov e an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne ver use blades that are dull, crac ked or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order .
English – 13 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING W arm engine Ignition: Set the stop s witch to the star t position. Choke: Set the choke control in the chok e position and then back to its original position. This only engages the star t throttle setting without any chok e.
14 – English MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Y our Husqv ar na product has been designed and manuf actured to speci fi cations that reduce har mful emissions.
English – 15 MAINTENANCE The blades m ust also remain stationar y when the chok e control is in the star t throttle position. W ARNING! If the idle speed cannot be adjusted so that the cutting attachment stops, contact y our dealer/service workshop .
16 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the w orking temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Gear housing There is a grease nipple on the gearbo x. Use a grease gun to top up with grease. This should be carried out after appro ximately e very 20 working hours. Use Husqvarna special grease, No . 503 98 96-01. CA UTION! The gear housing must not be fi lled completely with grease.
