8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to reduce vibration and mak e operation easier . Use of incorrectly wound cord or an incorrect cutting attachment increases the le vel of vibr ation.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Locking n ut A locking n ut is used to secure some types of cutting attachment. When fi tting, tighten the nut in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the cutting attachment. T o remov e it, undo the nut in the same direction as the cutting attachment rotates.
10 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the loop handle (326C) • P osition the handle on the shaft. Note that the handle must be mounted below the arro w on the shaft. • Fit the screw , secur ing plate and wing nut as shown in the diagram. • Tighten the wing nut.
English – 11 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the trimmer head Fitting a trimmer guar d and Superauto II 1" trimmer head (326L, 326Lx, 326LDx) • Fit the correct trimmer guard (A) for use with the trimmer head. Hook the guard onto the fi tting on the shaft and secure it with the bolt (L).
12 – English ASSEMBL Y Fitting the trimmer guar d and trimmer head (326C) Guard • Fit the guard as shown in the diagr am. Tighten securely . T rimmer head • Fit the dust cup on the shaft. The nut must be completely cov ered by the dust cup . • Hold the dust cup with a spanner to pre vent the shaft from rotating.
English – 13 FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver start the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vapor ate. 2 If you ha ve spilt fuel on yourself or y our clothes, change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
14 – English FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by fi lling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
English – 15 ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k bef ore star ting • Ne ver start the machine indoors. Exhaust fumes can be dangerous if inhaled. • Obser ve y our surroundings and make sure that there is no risk of people or animals coming into contact with the cutting equipment.
16 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING CA UTION! Do not put any part of your body in marked area. Contact can result in burns to the skin, or electrical shock if the spark plug cap has been damaged. Alwa ys use glov es. Do not use a machine with damaged spark plug cap.

18 – English W ORKING TECHNIQUES Clearing • The clearing technique removes all unw anted vegetation. K eep the tr immer head just abov e the ground and tilt it. Let the end of the cord strike the ground around trees , posts, statues and the like .
English – 19 MAINTENANCE Carb uretor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to speci fi cations that reduce har mful emissions.
20 – English MAINTENANCE Fine adjustment of the idle speed T Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessar y to readjust. First tur n the idle adjustment screw T clockwise until the cutting attachment starts to rotate. Then turn the screw anticlockwise until the cutting attachment stops.
English – 21 MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Air intake on the starter . 2 Fins on the fl ywheel. 3 Cooling fi ns on the cylinder .
22 – English MAINTENANCE Oiling the air fi lter Alwa ys use HUSQV ARNA fi lter oil, ar t. no. 531 00 92-48. The fi lter oil contains a solvent to mak e it spread ev enly through the fi lter . Y ou should theref ore av oid skin contact. Put the fi lter in a plastic bag and pour the fi lter oil ov er it.
