English – 5 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS Muffler The muffler is designed to k eep noise le vels to a minim um and to direct e xhaust fumes aw a y from the user . In countries that hav e a warm and dr y climate there is a significant risk of fire. Consequently , we hav e equipped the muffler with a spark arrestor mesh mounted inside the muffler .
6 – English SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Regularly check that the muffler is securely attached to the machine. • The muffler on y our machine is equipped with a spark arrestor mesh; this must be cleaned regularly . See the heading Muffler in the Maintenance chapter .
English – 7 SAFETY INSTR UCTIONS • Ensure the machine is cleaned and that a complete ser vice is carried out before long-term storage. Adjusting the harness A correctly adjusted harness and machine significantly f acilitates the work. Adjust the har ness to giv e the best working position.

10 – English ASSEMBL Y Assembling the b low pipe and contr ol handle • Loosen the two scre ws on the f an’ s outlet pipe and remov e the two wear ring halves located on the outlet pipe. • Place these on the pipe bend so that the guide on the wear ring halves aligns with the slot on the pipe bend.
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Fuel CA UTION! The machine is equipped with a two-strok e engine and must alwa ys been run using a mixture of petrol and two- stroke engine oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
12 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Star ting and stopping Cold engine Ignition: Set the stop s witch to the star t position. Star t position is achie ved b y moving the stop switch slightly backw ards (356BT) or downw ards (356BF) until the stop s witch clicks into start position.
English – 13 MAINTENANCE Carb urettor Y our Husqvarna product has been designed and manuf actured to specifications that reduce har mful emissions. After the engine has used 8-10 tanks of fuel the engine will be run-in.
14 – English MAINTENANCE Muffler The muffler is designed to reduce the noise le vel and to direct the e xhaust gases aw a y from the operator . The e xhaust gases are hot and can contain sparks, which ma y cause fire if directed against dr y and comb ustible material.
English – 15 MAINTENANCE Air filter The air filter must be regularly cleaned to remov e dust and dir t in order to av oid: • Carburettor malfunctions • Star ting problems • Loss of engine power • Unnecessar y wear to engine parts. • Excessive fuel consumption.
