5 T O ASSEMBLE GRASS CA TCHER (See Figs. 3 and 4) 1. Slide grass catcher bag o v er the frame . Make sure the rear handle is on top (the same side as the front handle) and the strap is on the bottom. 2. Slip vin yl bindings ov er fr ame. NO TE : If vinyl bindings are too stiff , hold them in warm water f or a f e w minutes.

10 T O STOP ENGINE • T o stop engine, release oper ator presence control bar . W ait until b lade and all moving parts hav e stopped and tur n fuel v alve to OFF position if y ou do not intend to re star t the engine soon. T O ST ART ENGINE (See Fig.

13 LA WN MO WER Alwa ys observe saf ety rules when perf orming any main- te nance. TIRES • K eep tires free of gasoline, oil, or insect control chem- i cals which can har m rubber . • A v oid stumps, stones , deep ruts, sharp objects and other hazards that ma y cause tire damage.
14 AIR FIL TER Y our engine will not r un properly and may be damaged by using a dirty air fi lter . Replace the air fi lter e very 100 hours of operation or e v ery season, whichev er occurs fi rst. Ser vice air cleaner more often under dusty conditions.
15 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O REMO VE DRIVE BEL T (See Figs. 18–20) 1. Disconnect spark plug wire from spar k plug and place wire where it cannot come in contact with spark plug. 2. Remo v e screws retaining driv e cov er and remove driv e cov er from la wn mow er housing (See Fig.
