3 Precautions F or U .S. model The laser is cov ered by a housing which prevents e xposure during operation or maintenance. Howe ver , this product is classified as a Laser Product by CDRH (Center for Devices and Radiological Health) which is a department of the Food and Drug Administra- tion.

5 Bef ore using this unit 1. Remov e the battery compartment cover by opening it as sho wn in the illustration. 2. Insert two AA (R6- or UM-3)-size batteries into the battery com- partment. Carefully follow the polarity diagram (positi ve (+) and negati ve (–) symbols) inside the battery compartment.
6 System Connections • Do not plug in the power cord until all connections ha ve been made. • On each pair of input or output jacks, the jack marked R corresponds to the right channel and the jack marked L corresponds to the left channel. T wo types of output jacks are located on the rear panel.
