When negotiating ram ps, if the throttle co ntrol lever is released while in the FORW ARD motion, the pow ered scooter will roll back a pproximately one (1) foot before the brake engages.

SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES Part No. 1125053 15 220 Batteries The w arranty and performance specifications contained in this manual are based on the use of deep cycle gel cell batteries. Inv acare strongly recommends their use as t he pow er source for this unit.

SECTION 2—EMI INFORMATION Part No. 1125053 17 220 WARNING Powered Wheelchair Electromagn etic Interference (EMI) Because EM energy rapidly becomes more intense as one moves close r to the transmitting antenna (source), the EM fields from hand-held radio wave sources (transceivers) are of special concern.

This manual points o ut the most common proce dures and techniques involv ed in the safe operation and maintenance.

SECTION 4—SAFETY INSPECTION 220 20 Part No. 1125053 SECTION 4—SAFETY INSPECTION NOTE: Every six (6) months take your power ed scooter to a qualified technician for a thorough inspection and servicing. Regular cleaning will reveal loose or worn parts and enhance the smooth operation of your power ed scooter .
SECTION 4—SAFETY INSPECTION Part No. 1125053 21 220 ❑ Tighten locknut if the fro nt wheel wobbles noticeably or loosen locknut if the wheel binds to a stop. ❑ Ensure that the fork ste m bearing set is tight. ❑ Ensure that wheel bearings are clean and free of moisture.
SECTION 4—SAFETY INSPECTION 220 22 Part No. 1125053 Inspect/Adjust Periodically ❑ Ensure that the powered scooter drives straight (no excessive drag or pull to one side). ❑ Check frame for damage and corrosion. ❑ Ensure that the brake release lev er is easy to engage/disengage.

SECTION 5—MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING 220 24 Part No. 1125053 Troubleshooting SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE SOLUTION LIMITED D RIVING DISTANCE. Battery not charged long enough. Batteries weak, w on’t hold charge. Charge batteries overnight or en sure eight (8) hours of charge between use.

SECTION 7—SEAT AND ARMS Part No. 1125053 31 220 Removing/Installing the Deluxe Seat WARNING Before use, ensure that the seat is in the locked position. The seat lever MUST be pulled up to the 90° position to allow th e seat t o drop into the locked position.

SECTION 10—BATTERIES Part No. 1125053 41 220 The 220 powered scooter is designed to use two (2) 12 v olt, 12 Amp-hour (12AH) batteri es. NOTE: Recommended bat tery type is spill proof and r equires no maintenance except rout ine charging. NOTE: Charge batteries daily .
