17 Face Plate or Chuck W hile f acepl ates are the sim plest, m ost reli able m ethod o f hol d i ng a block of w ood f or turni ng, chuck s can also be used. A chuck i s not a requi rement but i s handy when w ork i ng on m or e than one pi ece at a time.
