I f you pur c hased o ne of t he JET stands, pl ace the sander bas e on t he stand and ali gn the hol es.
11 Dust Cover To open t he dust cov er, push in on t he knob (C, Fi gure 5) and l ift. The l a t ch can be adjusted using t he screw behi nd it. Du st Collection Dust col lecti on i s m andatory for a s af e w or k envi ron m ent and ex t ended abra siv e lif e.

Mark the t railing end of the strip where i t cros s e s the ri ght (i nboard) end of the drum (F i gure 11). 6. Rem ove t he abrasive stri p fr o m t he dru m , and cut a taper as w a s done w i th the start ing edge (see Fi gure 8).
13 Grounding Instructions Elect rical co nnection s must be mad e by a qu alified el ectrician i n comp liance wit h all relevan t codes. Th is machi ne must be p r o perly ground ed to help preven t electri cal sho ck and po ssible fat al injur y.
14 Ext ensi on Co rds If an ex tension cor d i s necessary, m ake sure the cord r ating i s s uit able f or the a m per age listed on the m achine's m otor plat e . An undersize cor d w ill ca us e a dr op in l ine vo lt age resul t i ng in loss of power and ov erheati ng.
15 Conv e yor Belt Tension an d Trackin g Conv eyor belt tension adj ustm ent may be necessary d uri ng the break-i n peri od to com pensate f or bel t stret ching. I MP ORT ANT : The conv eyor belt has been ov er- tensioned for the purpo s e of s hi ppi ng.
16 3. Loos en the c onv ey or tak e-up screw nuts (A , Fi gure 20) t o reli e v e belt t ension, and sl ide the driv en roller fully inward. 4. Rem o v e the f our bolts that attach the conv eyor tabl e to t he base. Lift up the conv eyor tabl e and rem ove i t f rom m achine.
17 5. If the drum does not contac t the t h i ckness gauge to the s am e degree as the opposi te end of t he dr u m, a l ignm ent is necessary. To ali gn t he drum: 1.

Al so note that pieces thi cker t han 3/4” shoul d be longer than t he mi nim u m norm a l ly recomm ended to prev ent tippi ng of t he stoc k.
