6 Multi-Displa y (4) 4.1 T emperature indicator : the pr ovided washing temperatures ar e 95° or 90°- 60°- 50°- 40° - 30°. Cold corr esponds to cold washing. 4.2 Spin speed indicator - « Rinse hold» and «QUIET» options Note! The spin exclusion is indicated b y a « 0 ».
7 4.7 W ash time message: • It is on when the washing cycle starts and when the duration is shown on the displa y . • It goes off at the end of the cycle, and during the dela yed start selection. • It blinks during the time calculation if you ha ve selected a « proportional » pr ogramme .
8 «Stain» Function Select this option to treat hea vily soiled or stained laundr y with stain r emover (extended main wash with time optimised stain action phase). This option is not a vailable with a temperature low er than 40°C . Attention! If you wish to perf orm a pr ogramme with the stain option, pour stain remo ver into compartment .

For the compatibility betw een a function and a washing pr ogramme , see «W ashing Programmes». «Star t/pause» button (10) Start = T o star t the selected pr ogramme , press the button 10; the pilot light i s now lit permanently . If you ha ve selected a dela y time, the countdown will begin and will be shown on the displa y .
Using the washing machine Befor e the first wash, we r ecommend that you run a cotton cycle at the highest temperature, without any laundr y in the machine, to remo ve an y manufacturing residue fr om the drum and tub. P our 1/2 a measure of detergent into the dispenser dra wer and start the machine.
11 If you ha ve chosen a dela yed start, the washing machine will begin the countdown. The displa y will show the duration of the programme or the selcted dela y . Pr ogramme cor rection As long as the wash pr ogramme has not been star ted yet, the pr ogramme selection can still be changed.
12 Hints & tips on washing Do NO T overload the machine. W eigh the laundr y the first fe w times you use the a ppliance . The a verage weights of the most common items ar e listed below as a guid.
13 W ash car e symbols W ash car e labels inside garments recommend ho w to launder your clothes with the best r esults. The care labelling code is in line with care labelling used in the r est of Europe. The symbols used make it easy to select the cor rect pr ogramme on your washing machine.
14 W ashing pr o grammes (1) Cycle time duration, energ y and water consumptions ar e pr opor tional to the amount of load. The « Econom y Cottons» at 60° C with a load of 8 kg is the refer ence programme f or the data enter ed in the energy label, in compliance with EEC 92/75 standards.

17 Maintenance and cleaning Y ou must DISCONNECT the appliance from the electricity supply , before you can carr y out an y cleaning or maintenance work . Descaling The water we use normall y contains lime. It is a good idea to periodically use a water softening powder in the machine.
18 • When no more water comes out, unscr ew the pump cov er and remo ve it. Al wa ys keep a rag nearb y to dr y up spillage of water when remo ving the cov er . • Remov e any objects fr om the pump impeller by r otating it. • Put the cap back on the emergency emptying hose and place the latter back in its seat.
19 Something not w orking Please carry out the follo wing checks befor e contacting your local Service For ce agent. IMPOR T ANT: If y ou call out an engineer to a fault listed belo w , or to repair a fault caused b y incorr ect use or installation, a charge will be made e ven if the appliance is under guarantee.
20 Symptom The door will not open Solution ● The water lev el is too high. ● The machine is heating the water . ● The drum is turning. In any case the door can be opened onl y when the “Door lock” light has gone out.

22 Installation T echnical specifications It is danger ous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this pr oduct in any wa y . Care m ust be tak en to ensure that the a ppliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable.
23 Unpacking All transit bolts and packing must be r emov ed befor e using the appliance. K eep all packaging a wa y from childr en. Y ou ar e advised to k eep all the transit bolts for r e-use in case the machine is to be transported again.

If this connection is not compatible with the plumbing of the existing installation, a variety of connectors are a vailable fr om good hardwar e stores and plumbers mer chants to suit most domestic plumbing. Any alteration to y our existing plumbing must be carried out b y a competent person, or qualified plumber .
25 When discharging into a standpipe ensure that the top of the standpipe is no more than 90cm (35.4'') and no less than 60cm (23.6'') abov e floor lev el. The drain hose ma y be extended to a maximum of 4 metres. An ad ditional drain hose and joining piece is a vailable from y our local Ser vice F orce Centr e .
The appliance is supplied with a 13amp plug fitted. In the ev ent of having to change the fuse in the plug supplied, a 13amp AST A appr oved (BS1363/A) fuse must be used. Should the plug need to be replaced f or any r eason, pr oceed as described below .
