See instr uctions under the heading T echnical data for inf or mation on the size of file and gauge that are recommended f or the chain fitted to your chain saw .
English – 13 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS • Raise the tip of the bar and stretch the chain by tightening the chain tensioning screw using the combination spanner . Tighten the chain until it does not sag from the underside of the bar . • Use the combination spanner to tighten the bar nuts while lifting the tip of the bar at the same time.

English – 15 ASSEMBL Y Fitting the bar and c hain Check that the chain br ake is in disengaged position by moving the front hand guard to wards the front handle. Remov e the bar nuts and remov e the clutch cov er (chain brak e). T ake off the transportation r ing (A).
16 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel Note! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must alwa ys be run using a mixture of gasoline and two- stroke oil. It is impor tant to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mix ed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained.
English – 17 FUEL HANDLING • In temperatures below 32 ° F (0 ° C) some oils become too viscous. This can o verload the oil pump and result in damage to the oil pump components. • Contact your service agent when choosing chain oil. Fueling Clean the area around the fuel cap .
18 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Starting and stopping Cold engine Starting: The chain brake should be activ ated when star ting the chain saw . Activate the chain br ake by pushing the front hand guard f orwards. Ignition; choke: Slide the control to its rear position.

20 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Bef ore use: 1 Check that the chain br ake works correctly and is not damaged. 2 Check that the throttle loc kout works correctly and is not damaged. 3 Check that the stop s witch works correctly and is not damaged.
English – 21 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES incorrectly or make the cut in the wrong place the tree ma y hit you or the machine and cause y ou to lose control. Both situations can cause serious personal injur y . 8 Bef ore moving your chain sa w switch off the engine and lock the chain using the chain br ake.
22 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Cutting with the bottom edge of the bar , i.e. from the top of the object downw ards, is known as cutting with a pulling chain. In this case the chain sa w pulls itself towards the tree and the front edge of the chain saw body rests naturally on the trunk when cutting.
English – 23 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES The log is supported at one end. There is a high risk that it will split. Star t by cutting from belo w (about 1/3 of the wa y through). - Finish by cutting from abo ve so that the two cuts meet. The log is supported at both ends.
24 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Felling F elling is done using three cuts. First y ou make the directional cuts, which consist of the top cut and the bottom cut, then y ou finish with the f elling cut. By placing these cuts correctly you can control the f elling direction very accurately .
English – 25 W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Limbing Mak e sure that y ou can stand and mov e about safely . Work on the left side of the trunk. Work as close as possib le to the chain saw f or maximum control. If possible, let the weight of the chain saw rest on the trunk.
26 – English MAINTENANCE General The user must only carry out the maintenance and ser vice work described in this manual. Carb uretor adjustment Due to e xisting environmental and emissions legislation your chain saw is equipped with mo vement limiters on the carburetor adjuster scre ws.
English – 27 MAINTENANCE Correctly adjusted carb uretor When the carburetor is correctly adjusted the machine accelerates without hesitation and the machine 4-cycles a little at max. speed. It is also impor tant that the chain does not rotate at idle.
28 – English MAINTENANCE Chain catcher Check that the chain catcher is not damaged and is firmly attached to the body of the chain saw . Vibration damping system Regularly check the vibration damping units f or crac ks or def or mation. Make sure the vibr ation damping units are securely attached to the engine unit and handle unit.
English – 29 MAINTENANCE • Pull out the cord appro x. 30 cm (12 inches) and hook it into the notch in the rim of the pulley . Release the recoil spring by letting the pulley rotate slo wly backw ards. • Undo the screw in the centre of the pulle y and remov e the pulley .
30 – English MAINTENANCE An air filter that has been in use f or a long time cannot be cleaned completely . The filter m ust therefore be replaced with a new one at regular intervals .
