8 – English GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Vibration damping system Y our machine is equipped with a vibration damping system that is designed to reduce vibration and mak e operation easier . The machine ′ s vibration damping system reduces the transf er of vibration between the engine unit/cutting equipment and the machine ′ s handle unit.
English – 9 GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS Blades T o ensure good cutting results it is impor tant that the contact pressure between the b lades is correct. The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar clockwise as f ar as they will go .
10 – English FUEL HANDLING Fuel safety Ne ver star t the machine: 1 If you ha ve spilled fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate . 2 If you ha ve spilled fuel on y ourself or your clothes , change your clothes . W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
English – 11 FUEL HANDLING Mixing • Alwa ys mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended f or fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture.
12 – English ST AR TING AND ST OPPING Chec k before starting • Inspect the working area. Remove an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne ver use b lades that are dull, crac ked or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect wor king order .

14 – English W ORKING TECHNIQ UES Safety instructions after completing w ork • The transpor t guard should alwa ys be fitted to the cutting attachment when the machine is not in use. • Make sure the cutting attachment has stopped bef ore cleaning, carr ying out repairs or an inspection.

16 – English MAINTENANCE Cooling system T o keep the working temperature as low as possib le the machine is equipped with a cooling system. The cooling system consists of: 1 Fins on the flywheel. 2 Cooling fins on the cylinder . 3 Cylinder cov er (directs cold air ov er the cylinder).
English – 17 MAINTENANCE Gear housing There is a grease nipple and a plug f or filling lubricant on the gear housing. Use a grease gun to fill with grease. This should be done after e very 60 working hours. Use Jonsered special grease. CA UTION! The gear housing must not be filled completely with grease.
18 – English MAINTENANCE Maintenance sc hedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance that must be perf or med on the machine. Most of the items are descr ibed in the Maintenance section. The user must only carr y out the maintenance and service work descr ibed in this manual.
