T ypes of core filters * Optional (If you ha ve an optional JVC i.LINK cable VC-VD V206U or VC-VDV204U with core filters, it is not necessary to attach the provided core filter .

EN 11 Master P age: Right-start GETTING ST ARTED T his play er’ s 2-way po wer supply system lets you choose the most appropriate source of po wer . Do not use provided power supply units with other equipment. Charging The Battery Pack 1 Make sure you unplug the pla yer’ s DC cord from the AC P ower Adapter/Charger .

NOTES: ● T he provided A C P ower Adapter/Char ger features automatic voltage selectio n in the AC range from 110 V to 240 V .
EN 13 Master P age: Right T o turn on the pl ay er , set the P ower Switch to “ON” while pressing down the Lock Button located on the switch. Choose the appropriate operation mode according to your preference using Pla yback Mode Switc h for pla yback and Video Output Mode Switc h for signal output.
14 EN Master P age: Left Press the Monitor Opening Button and open the LCD monitor fully . T o view images on the LCD monitor , set the Video Output Mode Switch to “LCD MONIT OR”. ( 墌 pg. 13) NOTES: ● T he image on the LCD monitor and the image on the TV screen may look differently in terms of the brightness and color .
EN 15 Master P age: Right T he date/time display can be turned on or off during pla yback. ( 墌 pg. 28, 31) 1 Set the P ower Switch to “ON” while pressing down the Lock Button located on the switc h. 2 Open the LCD monitor fully . 3 Press MENU . T he Menu Screen appears.
16 EN Master P age: Left T he pla yer needs to be powered up to load or eject a cassette 1 Slide and hold OPEN/EJECT in the direction of arrow , then pull the cassette holder cover open until it locks. T he cassette holder opens automatically . ● Do not touch internal components.
EN 17 Master P age: Right 1 Make sure the play er’ s power is off. 2 Slide to open the card cover (MEMOR Y C ARD). 3 T o load a memory card , firmly insert it with its clipped edge first. T o unload a memory card , push it once. After the memory card comes out of the play er , pull it out.

EN 19 Master P age: Right Shuttle Search Allows high-speed searc h in either direction durin g video playbac k. 1) During play back, press 5 for forward sear ch, or 3 for reverse searc h. 2) T o resume normal playback, press 4 / 9 . ● During playbac k, press and hold 5 or 3 .
20 EN Master P age: Left T hese are some basic type s of connections. When making the connections, refer also to your VCR and TV instruction manuals. T o Connect A Conventional TV or VCR * Connect when y our TV/VCR has S-VIDEO IN and A/V input connectors.
EN 21 Master P age: Right 1 Make sure all units are turned off. 2 Connect the play er to a TV or VCR as shown in the illustration. If using a VCR , go to step 3 . If not , go to step 4 . 3 Connect the VCR output to the TV input, referring to your VCR’ s instruction manual.

EN 23 Master P age: Right Y ou can view several different files stored in the memory card at a time. This bro wsing capability makes it easy to locate a particular file you want. 1 P erform steps 1 – 4 in “Normal Playbac k Of Images” ( 墌 pg. 22).
24 EN Master P age: Left T he Protect mode helps prevent the accidental erasure of files. 1 Open the LCD monitor fully . ● Set the V ideo Output Mode Switch to “LCD MONIT OR”. ( 墌 pg. 13) 2 Load a memory card. ( 墌 pg. 17) 3 Set the Playbac k Mode Switch to “MEMOR Y”.
EN 25 Master P age: Right T o remov e protection from all files st ored in the memo ry card 7 Press R or T to select “C ANC.ALL ”, and press MENU . The PRO TECT screen appears. 8 Press R or T to select “EXECUTE”, and press MENU . ● T o cancel selection, select “RETURN”.
26 EN Master P age: Left By resetting the file name , a new folder will be made. T he new files you are going to make will be stored in the new folder . It is convenient to separate the new files from previously made files. 1 Open the LCD monitor fully .

EN 29 Master P age: Right-Heading0 PLA YBA CK MENUS VIDEO Playback sound During tape playbac k, the play er detects the sound mode in whic h the recording was made, and plays the sound back. Select the type of sound to accompany y our playbac k picture.
30 EN Master P age: Left SYSTEM Beep and melody sound BEEP (F actory-preset: OFF ) OFF : T he beep does not sound even when the operation is performed. BEEP : T h e beep sounds when the oper ation is performed. MELOD Y : Instead of a beep, a melody sounds when any operation is performed.
EN 31 Master P age: Right DISPLA Y Display setting ON SCREEN (F actor y-preset: LCD ) OFF : T he pla yer’ s display disappears. LCD : K eeps the play er’ s display (except the date, time and time code) from appearing on the connected TV screen. LCD/TV : Makes the pla yer’ s display appear on screen when the pla yer is connected to a TV .
