G-1 Warnings, Cautions an d Others CAUTION The button in any position does not disconnect the m ains line. Disconnect the mains plug to shut the power off completely (the STANDBY lamp goes off). The MAINS plug or an app liance coupler is used as the disc onnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.

2 Introduction Thank you for purcha sing a JV C pro duct . Please read all instructions careful ly before operation, to en sure your complete underst anding and to obtain the best p ossible perform ance from the unit. 4 Connections Connecting the Antenna NOTES: • Make sure the F M antenna does not touc h any othe r terminals, connecti ng cords or the AC power cord. Also, keep the antenn a away from metallic pa rts of the unit, connecting cords an d the AC power cord.
5 Connectin g the Video Co rd to V iew a Vid eo/Pictur e from iPod When vi ewing a vi deo/pic ture fro m iPod on your TV , use a comp osite vi deo cord ( not supp lied) t o connec t the VIDE O OUT jack on the unit and the co mposite video input on your TV.
6 Canceling the Display Demonstration (Demo) When you c onnect the AC power cord for th e first time, the displ ay demonstra tion starts automa tically. • When yo u operate t he unit, th e display dem onstratio n stops temp orarily. If no operati on is done for about 2 minutes, the uni t starts the display demonstra tion ag ain.

11 To turn off the unit a fter a certain period o f ti me—Sle ep Timer • To check the ti me remain ing before the shu t-off time , press S LEEP once. If you press the b utton repeatedly , you can change the sh ut-off time. To emphasi ze the sound—S ound Turb o You can add the powerfuln ess to the sound.

13 Connecting iPod Connect iPod to dock A or B on th e unit. You can have 2 iPod devic es connected at the same time. • Make su re the un it is on standby when you connect iPod. NOTES: • Be careful not to damage th e terminal on the d ock when connec ting/disc onnectin g iPod.

17 Listening to FM Broadcasts Basic Operations Buttons Operations On the unit On the remote Selec ts FM as t he sour ce. When an FM program i s broadca sted in stereo , ST (stere o) lights up on the di splay (only when the re ception i s good ). Press: Cha nges the frequency.
18 Presetti ng Station s You can prese t 30 FM stations . NOTES: • When you unplu g the AC power cord or if a power failure occurs, the preset stations will be e rased in a few days. • If yo u store a new stati on onto an occupie d preset number, th e station previo usly stored on that number will be erased .
19 Connecting Other Equipment By using a st ereo mini pl ug cord (not supplied ), you can co nnect other eq uipment wi th analog audio output jacks, such as a p ortable audio play er, etc. • Refer to the instruction manual su pplied with the eq uipme nt.
20 Setting the Clock Set the b uilt-in cloc k before usi ng Time r. • You ca n set the cloc k when the uni t is turned o n or on stand by. • To exit from the clock settin g, pr ess CLOCK/TIME R as require d. • To corr ect a misent ry during the proce ss, press MENU/ CANCEL.
21 • To exit from Timer settin g, press CLOCK/T IMER as requi red. • To correct a m isentry during t he process, press M ENU/CANCEL. You can return to the previ ous step. 2 Select T imer you want t o set. 3 Select Tim er type. WEEKLY: See step 4 below.

23 Troubleshootin g If you have a p roblem with your u nit, check this list fo r a possible sol ution before cal ling for se rvice. General Power doe s not come o n. The power plu g is not inserted securely. Plug it in securely (P.5). Power turns o n even t hough you turned off.
