3 Connecting the FM and AM Antennas FM Antenna (supplied) If FM reception is poor, connect outdoor FM antenna (not supplied). AM antenna connection Connect the AM loop antenna supplied to the AM LOOP terminals. T urn the loop until you have the best r eception.

15 Basic Settings C VOL O CONTROL Dynamic Range Compression — D.R.C. Y ou can compress the dynamic range (difference between maximum sound and minimum sound) of the reproduced sound. 22 Cr eating Realistic Sound Fields Y ou can use the following DSP (Digital Signal Processor) modes to reproduce a realistic sound field. • Surround modes • D AP modes ■ Surr ound modes Surround modes cannot be used when only the fr ont speakers are connected to this r eceiver (without the rear speak ers or center speaker).
23 Creating Realistic Sound Fields These D AP modes can be used to add the acoustic surround effects while reproducing stereo analog software or Linear PCM digital software, and can gi ve you a real “being there” feeling.
