— 3 — To prevent injury and/or fire, take the following precautions: • Insert the unit all the way until it is fully locked in place. Otherwise it may fly out of place during collisions and other jolts. • When extending the ignition, battery , or ground wires, make sure to use automotive- grade wires or other wires with a 0.
— 4 — English • If you experience problems during installation, consult your Kenwood dealer . • If the unit fails to operate properly , press the Reset button. The unit returns to factory settings when the Reset button is pressed. After you press the reset button, the Mask Key will be needed to restart the unit.
— 5 — About RDS The marking of products using lasers (Except for some areas) The label is attached to the chassis/case and says that the component uses laser beams that have been classified as Class 1. It means that the unit is utilizing laser beams that are of a weaker class.
— 6 — English Notes on playing MP3/WMA(KDC-PSW9521)/ MP3(KDC-M907/KDC-M9021) This unit can play MP3(MPEG1, 2 Audio Layer 3)/WMA. Note, however , that the MP3/WMA recording media and formats acceptable are limited. When writing MP3/WMA, pay attention to the following restrictions.
— 7 — MP3/WMA playing order When selected for play , Album Search, T rack Search, or for Album Select, files and folders are accessed in the order in which they were written by the CD writer . Because of this, the order in which they are expected to be played may not match the order in which they are actually played.
— 8 — English About CDs Handling CDs • Don’t touch the recording surface of the CD. • CD-R and CD-RW are easier to damage than a normal music CD. Use a CD-R or a CD-RW after reading the caution items on the package etc. • Don’t stick tape etc.
Increasing V olume Tu rn the [VOL] knob clockwise. Decreasing V olume Tu rn the [VOL] knob counterclockwise. V olume Tu rning ON the Power Tu rn the vehicle ignition ON. The faceplate reverses and control panel is displayed. Tu rning OFF the Power Tu rn the vehicle ignition OFF .

The audio system automatically mutes when a call comes in. When a call comes in "CALL" is displayed. The audio system pauses. Listening to the audio during a call Press the [SRC] button. The "CALL" display disappears and the audio system comes back ON.
Selecting the station. 1 Select tuner source Press the [SRC] button. Select the "TUNER" display . 2 Select the band Press the [FM] or [AM] button. Each time the [FM] button is pressed it switches between the FM1, FM2, and FM3 bands. 3 T une up or down band Press the [ 4 ] or [ ¢ ] button.
Putting a station with good reception in the memory automatically . 1 Select the band for Auto Memory Entry Press the [FM] or [AM] button. 2 Enter Menu mode Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second. "MENU" is displayed. 3 Select the Auto Memory Entry mode Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
Displaying the program service name and selecting the station. 1 Enter SNPP mode Press the [DNPP] button on the remote. When "SNPP" is displayed, the program service name displays the FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM band in order . For stations without a program service name the frequency is displayed instead.
Scrolling the displayed radio text. Press the [SCRL] button for at least 1 second. Radio T ext Scroll Switching to traffic information automatically when a traffic bulletin starts even when you aren't listening to the radio. Press the [TI] button.

Play the songs on all the discs in the disc changer in random order . Press the [M.RDM] button for at least 1 second. Each time the button is pressed the Magazine Random Play turns ON or OFF . When it's ON, "M.Random ON" is displayed. When the [ ¢ ] button is pressed, the next song select starts.
Selecting the CD displayed in the DNPS of the CDs set in the Disc changer . 1 Enter DNPP mode Press the [DNPP] button on the remote. When "DNPP" is displayed the DNPS display in order . Forward / Reverse display Press the [DISC–] or [DISC+] button.
Scrolling the displayed CD text, MP3/WMA text, or MD title. Press the [SCRL] button for at least 1 second. T ext/T itle Scroll Characters can be entered by using a remote with number buttons.

It switches automatically when a news bulletin starts even if the radio isn't being listened to. Also, the time interval when interrupt is prohibited can be set.
When poor reception is experienced, automatically switch to another frequency broadcasting the same program in the same RDS network with better reception. Display Setting "AF ON" The AF function is ON. "AF OFF" The AF function is OFF .
For selecting the display when switched to Auxiliary input source. For the Disc Naming refer to the <Disc Naming> (page 28). 1 Select Auxiliary input source Press the [SRC] button. Select the "AUX" display . 2 Enter Menu mode Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second.
Setting the timer to turn this unit's power OFF automatically when Standby mode continues. Using this setting can save the vehicle's battery power . Display Setting "OFF – – – –" Power OFF T imer function is OFF . "OFF 20min" T urns the power OFF after 20 minutes.
[VOL.] buttons Adjusting the volume. [SRC] button Each time the button is pressed the source switches. For the source switching order refer to <Selecting the Source> (page 10). [A TT] button Tu rning the volume down quickly . When it is pressed again it returns to the previous level.
