2 Introduction ( GB ) Dear Customer , congratulations on the purchase of your new KETTLER Pedelec Cycle. These instructions will help you to operate and maintain your Pedelec. Please read them carefully before using your cyc le and familiarise yourself well with the functioning of the system.

5 Charging the Battery Before using it for the first time, the battery must be charged for a t least four hours. When deli- vered, the battery is in the uncharged sta te and is in sleeping mode. The batter y can be charged in any state i.e. at any charge level.
6 Note: 1. The length of the charging process depends on the capacity and the level of the charge. 2. Charge the batter y at room temperature only . As soon as the ambient tempera ture of the batter y is less than 0° or more than 40° the batter y cannot be charged and the charging unit remains in standby mode.
7 Operation and Control Operating Unit The operating unit is for switching the system on and off, selecting the desired assistance level and displaying the amount of charge remaining in the batter y . Switching on Press the Power button on the operating unit on your handlebars.
8 Assistance Mode, Range Selecting degree of assistance With the Mode button on the operating unit you can select one of three different assistance modes at an y time.

11 T echnical Data Battery Sleeping Mode In its original state and at the first start-up the ba ttery is in sleeping mode. F or this reason the batter y has to be fully charged before it is used for the first time. If the charge level drops below 50% and it is not charged for more than two weeks, it goes into sleeping mode automatically .
12 T echnical Data Charging Unit The charging unit type NKJ38 is supplied with the cyc le. Weight of charging unit: 530 g Power supply: 220 V (50 Hz) AC Power: 62 W A charging unit is supplied with the cyc le. T o charge it, take the unit out of the box and remove the plastic foil.
13 Care and Maintenance Inspection Follow the instructions in the enc losed KETTLER Instructions for Assembly and Operation T yre Pressure The tyre pressure has an important influence on the performance of the Pedelec. T o ensure that the range of the batter y is not a ffected, ensure that the tyre pressure is always between 3 and 4 bar .
14 T roubleshooting Do not attempt to repair the electric drive system, control system or batter y . F or any necessar y service or repair work, always contact your KETTLER dealer who has the necessary informa tion and expertise to carry out repairs.
15 Guarantee / Gener al Notes Battery Batteries are subject to wear and tear . It is therefore normal for the capacity of the batter y to decline with increasing age, use, and frequenc y of charging. For other guarantee provisions, please refer to the KETTLER Instructions for Assembly and Operation.
