5 Electrical Requ irements Befo re you mov e you r r efrige rator into its fi nal l ocat ion, it is important to make sure you have the proper electrical connection . Recommended Gr o unding Method A 115 V olt, 60 Hz. , AC only 15- or 20 -amp fus ed, gr ounded electrica l supply i s required.
6 Refrigerator Doors TOOLS NE EDED: ¹⁄₄ ", ¹⁄ ₂ " , and ⁵⁄₁₆ " hex-head socket w renches, a flat-blade screwdrive r and a Phill ips screwdriver . IMPORT AN T : Before you be gin, tur n th e refrigerator control OFF . Unplug refrigerat or or discon nect pow er .
7 Remove the Door s 1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect pow er . 2. Open both refrigerator doors. Remov e the base grille b y pulling up on the bottom outsid e corn ers. See Graphic 1. 3. Close both doors and keep them closed unt il you are r eady to lift them free from the cabin et.
8 3. Use a hex-h ead socket wrench to ad just th e leveli ng screws. T urn the leveli ng scr ew to th e right to ra ise tha t side of th e r efrigerator or t urn the leveling scre w to the left to low er that side. It may tak e several tur ns of t he leveli ng screws to adjust the tilt of th e refrigerator .
9 Complete the Installatio n 1. Plug in refrigerator or reconnect power . 2. Flush the wat er system. See “ P repare the W ate r System. ” NOTE : It may take up to 2 4 hours for your ice maker t o begin producing ice. Prepare the W a ter System Please read before usin g the water sys tem.
10 Remove the Door Panels NOTE : When r emo ving and r eplaci ng deco rat or pan e ls, only th e handle is removed. All other tr im pie ces remain a ttached to th e doors. 1. Remove the refrigerator an d freezer handles: ■ Using a Ph illip s scr ewdriv er , remov e the scr ews that hold each handle in place.

14 W ate r and Ice Dispe nser s (on some models) Depending on your model, you may have one or mor e of the following options: the ability to sel ect either crushed or cu bed ice, a spe cial l ight that t urns on when you use the disp enser , a special AUTO mode, or a lock option to avoid unintentional dispen sing.
15 ON: Press the L IGH T button to turn the dis pense r light on. AUTO: P ress the LIGHT but ton a second time to s elect t he AUTO mode. The disp enser light w ill automat ically adj ust to become brighter as the room brightens, dimmer as the room darkens.

17 Remember ■ Allow 2 4 hours to pr oduce the first ba tch of ice. A llow 3 days to completel y fill ice conta iner . ■ Discard the first three batches of ice p roduced to avoid impurities that ma y be flushed out of the sy stem. ■ The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the water s upplied to your ic e maker .

21 Changing the Light Bulbs NOTE : Not all appli ance b ulbs will fit your r efrigerat or . Be sur e to replace the bulb with one of the same size and shape. The dispen ser light requires a heavy duty 10-w att bulb . All other ligh ts require a 40-watt appliance bu lb.
22 ■ Remove all frozen food and stor e it in a fr ozen food locker . ■ Place 2 lbs. (9 07 g) of dry ice i n the freezer for every cubic foot (28 L) of freezer space. This will keep the food frozen for 2t o 4d a y s . ■ If neither a food locker n or dry ice is availab le, consume or can perishab le food at once.
23 The motor seems to ru n too much ■ Is the room temperature hotter than normal? The motor will run longer under warm cond itions. A t normal r oom temperatures, expect you r motor to run about 40% to 80% of the time. Unde r warmer conditions, i t will run even mor e.
24 ■ Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Release dispen ser arm. Ice will st op dispensi ng when th e arm is held in too long. W ait 3 minutes for dispenser motor t o re set before using again. It is best t o take large amounts of ice directly from the ice st orage bin, not through the disp enser .
25 ■ Are t he pans, shelves , bins, or basket s out of posi tion? Put the cri sper cover an d all pans, s helves, b ins, and baskets back into t heir correct positions. See the “ Convertible V egeta ble/Meat Draw er , Cris per and Covers ” se ction fo r more information.
